Q: How long is the liquid form good for once opened?

submitted by Mommyv - 9 years ago
  • A: No longer than 48 hours after opened and left refrigerated. You will defiantly go through it faster than 48 hours though.

    submitted byMonikajames09 - 7 years ago
  • A: 48 hours if kept in the fridge. One hour if left out at room temperature/once the baby starts drinking the bottle

    submitted bykati4585 - 9 years ago
  • A: Instructions on the bottle state to use the liquid within 48 hours of opening and to keep the bottle refrigerated after opening.

submitted byMama - 9 years ago
  • A: The bottle says to discard after 72 hours of refrigeration, but we have found that we go through the milk even before those 72 hours are up. Our now 6 month old used to wake up every two hours as a newborn to feed and, even with that, we went through a 32 ounce bottle within a day and a half.

submitted byTinkerbell - 9 years ago
  • A: 24-30 hours in fridge

submitted bymom - 9 years ago

Q: How long will this keep unopened? I am buying before baby is born.

submitted by MsLaura - 7 years ago
  • A: The bottles are clearly marked with expiration dates that apply to unopened bottles. However, I would not advise buying this unless you know your baby needs it. It's a specific formula designed for infants with allergies, and it's likely a waste of your money if your baby doesn't actually have allergies.

submitted byAMom - 6 years ago
  • A: Each bottle has an expiration date and dates vary but they should be good for roughly 1 year. The bottles are good for 48 hours once open but they go fast especially if baby likes to eat.

Q: The SIMILACALIMENTUN ready to feed have the same ingredient a similac alimentum powder???? Because i dont know why my baby dont want drink powder milk

submitted by Yilian - 7 years ago
  • A: The powder contains corn and the ready to feed does not. Your child may have a corn allergy or intolerance.

    submitted byNicolecara24 - 7 years ago

Q: Can you freeze the formula? I only want to use it if the Babysitter needs to feed my baby and I can’t get home in time. I don’t want to buy a whole can because I don’t think I will need it.

submitted by SAHM130 - 7 years ago
  • A: Unfortunately you can not freeze formula. Once it's opened it has to be used within 48 hours and must be refrigerated. There are smaller cans available that won't go to so much waste.

EXPIRED! Target is selling expired formula. When manufactured this formula lasts 1 year so it is absolutely unacceptable for them to be selling expired formula. Be very wary and check the date as target certainly is not. Very dangerous.

I was just telling he should stop consuming dairy products and remembered I had to feed him this formula which, for me, was so expensive at $7.99 a bottle. That was 18 years ago. I can't even imagine having to pay this much daily. But you do what you have to do for your child. He still has problems digesting milk, even soy and almond. He's trying oatmilk for a change.

Product works great for my little one, but target is price gouging

So I’ll start off by saying that this product actually works great for my little one. We had to switch to a hypoallergenic formula when she was around 5 1/2 months and the powder version of this formula did not work for her. This formula is much less smelly and thick compared to the powder version, which is a definite plus, and my daughter seems to enjoy drinking her bottles again. The issue that I’m having is not necessarily with this product, but with Target. We have been purchasing this product for the last few months and it was originally $11.79, which is already expensive seeing as one bottle lasts us just over a day. During my most recent trip to Target to pick up her formula for the week, I was shocked when I saw they had raised the price of this to $14.29! That’s over a 20% increase, which is ridiculous! Target should be ashamed of themselves. It often takes a family a lot of trial and error to find a formula that works for their babies, especially when they have allergies and to price gouge these formulas is awful. Unfortunately, I can’t use a different/cheaper formula, not that any formula is cheap nowadays, but it’s really disheartening to see Target doing this. This should be illegal! Do better Target!

This formula was a savior for my baby with cow’s milk protein intolerance. My baby did not like the powdered version, but did great with the ready to feed. It was so nice to be able to purchase in larger quantities.

I don’t ever write reviews but this one needed its praise! My baby is 3 weeks and this is the 3rd formula we changed him to and we noticed the biggest difference after the FIRST feed. He was less squirmish, he wasn’t curled up in a ball all the time, he wasn’t screaming, grunting and crying during his feeds and most importantly WE were all able to sleep throughout the night!

    Worth Trying for Struggling Babes

My newborn had been struggling with eating. Poor thing would only drink 1-2 oz at a time and scream, trouble pooping, gas, and was just generally uncomfortable all the time. Not sleeping due to being hungry and in pain. After switching to numerous formulas and medication with no improvement, her pediatrician suggested to try hypoallergenic formula. Based on things I read I made the decision to try Alimentum ready to feed (cheaper than the other brand, and this particular one doesn’t have corn in it). We’re on day 4 and she is a completely new baby. No longer crying all the time and she is sleeping SO much better. Most importantly she’s taking her normal feeds and has even increased amounts per feeding! Every baby is different, but this works SO well for my 12 week old. I’d highly recommend trying it if your babe is struggling. It took a few days for her to get used to (it’s smells quite different) but we’ve seen such an improvement. It’s expensive but worth it.

Baby was so fussy on Neosure but she's been much happier on Alimentum, specifically the ready-to-feed. For some reason, she doesn't like the powder version. This is pricey but it's worth it to keep baby happy.

We make every effort to manage our product costs and work hard to provide families with affordable options for formulas. Over the last year, we’ve absorbed sharp increases in our costs to produce, package and distribute our infant formulas making it necessary to adjust our cost to retailers. Final retail prices are at the discretion of the retailer and may vary. We will be sure to share your feedback with our team. -The Similac Team

So formula wasn’t my go to plan with feeding both my kids, lactation consultants, GIs, hundreds of dollars on different medications, pumps, bottles. This is the ONLY formula my kids can use, even the prescribed formula they still have issues with spit up, and breakouts. Both my babies had a reaction at birth to regular formula, coming from a family with lots of food allergies we’d expected issues, but both my kids thrived off this, no fussiness, no pain, and I love the convenience of RTF, and future kids I’m going immediately to this now.
