Q: Can it be used in a bread machine

A: We wouldn't recommend using a bread machine for our mixes. Bread machines are made to mix the dough for a substantial amount of time, then heat and bake. Yeast-leavened dough with gluten needs to be kneaded well in order to work in bread machines. Our mixes do not use these ingredients, so it's likely our breads would come out very dense if cooked in a bread maker.

We are trying to find gluten free products that everyone will eat. This one was a total flop. It was very dense and hard. Unfortunately no one liked it. I was very disappointed since they scarfed down some almond flower tortilla's that I purchased.

I followed the instructions to make bread. It was loose like a thick cake batter. I let it sit for a few minutes hoping the liquids would absorb. Not enough to keep from pouring it into my pan. Very disappointing. I wasn’t able to shape it or cut a pattern onto the top of the batter. Not sure how it will taste. Baked for a gluten intolerant friend. If she likes it I will amend this review.

I think this is very good! Bought a box at my local grocery store but came on here to see if target carried it. I made it into a loaf and it’s delicious ! Nice crust on the outside, soft on the inside. Currently eating it sliced and toasted topped with avocado and egg for breakfast. The ingredients are so simple I might try to experiment with making it myself , since the only downside is the price . Love it though !

Pros: Best bread mouth feel and flavor of any g-f bread out there. Easy to make, though being g-f, it’s a wet dough and can’t be made to look like the loaf on the box as it must be poured into a loaf pan. Keeps well Cons: Expensive, small loaf If made to directions, comes out a bit oily. Fortunately, cutting back 1/2 tsp of oil takes care of that without affecting the texture nor flavor. Interestingly, bought my most recent box from Target and the mix looked speckled. The resulting loaf was not affected taste/texture-wise; just looks like a multigrain bread.

The Simple Mills Artisan Bread mix is extremely delicious! I usually add some Good & Gather Organic Italian Seasoning to boost the flavor of it. It is fantastic served alongside a bowl of soup or chili! It is very easy to prepare and great for children to help make.

After years of keeping 2 or 3 bags of gf bread on hand in the freezer, I discovered this little box of goodness that I can store in the cabinet until needed. All it requires are cider vinegar, eggs, and olive oil, which I have on hand. The texture is moist and fresh and the taste is comperable to the gf grocery store breads. The price is on par with other gf breads...Why trash this product?

In love with this! As someone who can’t eat gluten or eggs (I used flax “eggs” instead), this is a refreshing bread option. Made them dinner roll style in muffin tins and tasted like a biscuit. I’m hooked!

It’s ok, but only because I didn’t make a loaf. I made flat bread, then fried it on a iron pan, used it as pizza crust (added sauce & cheese & seasonings) & then baked it. If I didn’t add the flavor and the sauce, this bread would have been bland & dry & crumbly. As pizza it is ok, as bread will not be buying again.

The mix was easy to use and required no special ingredient additions. The directions were clear and the bread was delicious. Even my husband was a fan. Bake time was on par with other box mixes, and made enough to feed my family of three!

After using this mix, I'll be making my own from now on! All you do is add a couple pantry staples, bake, and you have this beautiful loaf of crusty Artisan bread! My house smelled amazing as an added plus! I also added some dried fruit and nuts to this mix, and it was AMAZING!! You can play around with adding extra ingredients! I can't wait to try other varieties!
