Description
Store compost scraps easily and efficiently with our odor-minimizing stainless steel compost caddy. The soft-seal lid allows food scraps to breathe, keeping odor under control and pests away. The plastic inner bucket is removable so it's easy to dump out scraps or clean. The compost caddy bin's stainless steel surface is protected by an invisible fingerprint-proof coating that is also infused with Agion®, an EPA-registered antimicrobial that inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi, mold, and mildew. A 30-pack of Code Z custom fit compostable liners is included -- the liners fit the caddy perfectly and can be thrown out along with your food scraps since they decompose fully.

Q: I saw the answer that the compost caddy fits on every liner model, but that turns out to be false. Now I have purchased the caddy to work with the 46L dual step model and the caddy hook does not fit. Is there a fix? What can I do to use these together?

A: Hi Heather, the compost caddy is specifically designed to work with "liner rim" cans, which have a rim that secures the caddy’s magnetic dock. Unfortunately, the 46L dual step model is not one of the liner rim cans, which is why the compost caddy hook doesn’t fit as expected. If you're looking for a solution, we can suggest checking if a wall mount for the compost caddy would work for you (since it doesn’t rely on the liner rim design). Otherwise, if you'd prefer the caddy to fit directly on your can, you might need to look for a compatible liner rim model.

A: We recommend the liners for easy clean up, however you can place the composting items directly in the plastic inner bucket.

These small compost bins are great design and the compostable liners are very nice. This item is small - which I prefer. However some households may feel they are too small and require multiple changing. Again the smaller bin fits my needs and preferences for how long compost items stay indoors. The design is very attractive. The unit is sturdy, leak proof, and keeps any smell contained. It is also easy to use and change liners. I have one on countertop and one attached to a floor trash bin. Both are great. Highly recommend.

I love my simple human trash bins. Especially because the letter coded bags fit snuggle across the top of the bin and don’t slide down into the canister. Unfortunately this feature is not true of the biodegradable bags provided. They are oversized for the top of the bin, do not fit snuggly’ and are difficult to position in a way that doesn’t slip or protrude outside the bin. Fix the bags to perform as a regular simple human trash bin. s bags do, and then the review will improve

This compost caddy is great! With or without bags. The composting bags do compost. They do breakdown in the compost pile which is a plus. I like that this caddy can stand alone on the counter or be attached to the waste can. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is due to the fact that the cover, when closed is not a tight seal. Therefore, fruit flies. Not many but enough to be a little annoyed. The inner plastic liner is washable. And because I am frugal, if the compost bag hasn’t started to decompose inside the caddy, I will reuse the compost bag one more time. I still love this compost caddy and highly recommend it.

I can't live without this caddy. No odors emanate from it. It is lightweight and easy to move around in the kitchen. If you line it with a plastic bag, it's easy to tie off and throw away the contents once it's full. (If I could compost where I live, I would dispose of the contents that way. ) I love this caddy so much that I bought a second one when the hinges failed on the first one. I am giving 4 stars only because the hinge is the weak spot on this item. After opening and closing the lid countless times, the tiny hinges gave out, long before the rest of the device did. I think the hinges should be more sturdy and last longer.

When mounted as a sidecar, the magnetic lid holder is terrific. During large cooking efforts, moving it to the counter or the sink is easy and quick. This is an all-around helpful solution they way a can on my counter or under the sink never was.
