I am sad I needed to post this review. This is the third time I purchased this “original” bacon. I wanted the thick cut. it was labeled as such but it was definitely not thick cut. Some of it was thinner than thin cut. Also it contained way too much water. RespectfullyTootsie

There were 11 pieces of bacon. Only 4 were a decent size. The rest were cut so thin they shriveled up to nothing. I would send a picture but there was no where to put it. The taste was great. Wished there was more to it.

Third time I’ve bought Smithfield hometown original to find that the entire package is 90% fat and 10% bacon.At least 8 strips out of the 22oz package were entirely fat with ZERO meat. Very disappointing. Should have stopped buying it after the first two fails but wanted to give them a chance. Going back to farmers markets and local but hers.Shame on you Smithfield!

What in the world is wrong with the slicer? Every single package I have bought is impossible to pull apart! The bacon falls apart. It’s annoying and a bit ridiculous. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1 is because the flavor is wonderful. I need more than just flavor though. Sincerely, a pregnant woman.

I cooked some delicious pasta and the bacon was the number one side dish, also I love the scrambled egg so you know what I put in the egg. It was lightly smoked and its taste is a little intense, not bad but it does feel strong the flavor. But it would be better to fry it in the air fryer because it already has enough fat. And last but not least, the price is approachable

The only thing i did notice that may need to be fixed is that the first three pieces were extremely thick and the rest wasn't. No big deal to me but some people might not like it.

I've been trying different brands of bacon to get both grease for gravy and edible bacon without too much fat. I chose Smithfield because it is a leading brand name. Wow, was I disappointed. The pack I took home no doubt had the most FAT I have ever seen, at least 75 percent. It did make a lot of grease for gravy, but I threw the cooked bacon in the trash. I don't like to eat a lot of FAT. I may try one more pack. I don't know the flavor because I threw it away. Very disappointed.

It was super meaty with minimal excess fat, the cuts were perfect so it all cooked evenly - my family loved it so much we had no left overs! This will be my new go to bacon at the grocery store for sure.
