Where I live, we get more ice then snow, this chopper was a game charger. It broke up Ice easy and was simple to shovel it out of the way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a terrible ice storm last year where thick sheets of ice covered pretty much every walking surface. I was out there for hours trying to break up the ice. So this year, I wanted to get something that would make that a little easier. Luckily we haven't had as intense of a winter this year, but I do live in a wet and cold area, so we did still get a little bit of ice to try this out. It did break up the ice very easily. The blade is tapered thin enough that it was really crack through or get under the ice to break it up. The flat edge worked really well on the sides of steps. I'm a taller guy (6'2") and the handle did feel a little short for me, but overall it was still comfortable and easy to use. The width of the blade is pretty small, so clearing out a larger area like a driveway would still take a while, but I would still recommend it if you deal with icy surfaces often especially stairs and walkways.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used the Snow Joe ice chopper on my driveway a lot this winter. We’ve had a lot of thaw and freezes and this has become a very handy tool. It does a great job of getting under the ice to break it loose from the concrete. It claims that the spring is supposed to make the work easier on your shoulder, but I’ve found it to be more helpful for my wrist. I wish the ice chopper was just a little bit longer so I don’t have to hunch over when using it. I’m 6 feet tall.

Wow does it make that chore so much easier. The handle is easy to grip, and the blade chops right through the ice. I highly recommend you add this to you snow and ice removal arsenal. Great product!

It's a nice weight which makes it easy to break the ice. It's very sturdy and easy to handle. It's good for breaking and scraping ice. Overal super great .I highly recommend this ice scraper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy to use. Lightweight chops soft ice easily. Remove packed snow tire tracks off driveway with little effort and quickly. The shock relief handle works great.

I like this tool, it does absorb some of the shock associated with chipping ice. I feel it could be somewhat improved by using a much heavier blade. The current blade is a little too lite duty.

by and large it lived up to it's claims about shock absorption, I think I expected a little more cushion, but it is distinctly better than without any. It seems very sturdy, well built, good materials. Seems like it will last a long time in New England conditions. I've only had chances to use it a few times so far.

great ice scraper sturdy and strong well made the spring inside the tube below the handle really takes the shock off your hand other ice scrapers i have used beat up you hands and arms as well as the scraper glad I bought it
