Q: Did the original aquarium series refill change their formula and/or scent? It smells horrible! Leaves your hands "sticky" with an unrinsed feel and the scent lingers for hours!

Q: Is this antibacterial—or is the “washes away bacteria” wordplay to make people think it’s antibacterial? Also there is no reason for any of these products to not have a safety seal or band on them. Are there plans to change this?

A: Hi! This variant of Softsoap is not an antibacterial. All of our Softsoap Hand Soap when used as part of proper hand washing will wash away bacteria. The CDC and the FDA say regular handwashing, particularly before and after certain activities, is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs to others. The safety seal is actually the cap itself. Once it has been opened and separated from it's base, the seal is broken. We hope this helps!

Ugh…I have used this product for about 20 years. My eye dr recommended it to use to wash hands before inserting contacts because of its light scent. A refill bottle lasts us a long time as we are a family of two and we only use it in two bathrooms. We just purchased a new bottle in November and the scent is overpowering! It stays on my hands for hours and alters the taste of food and stings my eyes when inserting contacts. I’m so disappointed in this change. Time to find a new soap.

I did not see anywhere on the bottle or in the main description about this soap having a scent. I am very sensitive to scents and cannot use this soap.
