When I purchased this item it was listed as the A7CR and I even got the invoice saying so. Then I got shipped the A7C, and here's th kicker - they changed the onlin invoice to say it is the A7C - with no warning or outreach from th seller. Avoid this seller at all cost
Excellent i would recommend to all of you

Bought two weeks ago, used canon equipment previously (and still do). But needed a more compact camera for general use, having read and viewed on line this appeared to fit my requirements. And it certainly does that and more. Loads of info available from Sony and third parties, personally believe the Sony information is better. Started by using full auto mode with exceptional quality results, found similar results in all the different modes available. No regrets having made this purchase, included was a kit lens which surpassed my expectations. My only gripe is the price of additional lens, particularly the GM range, however if quality results are required you will have to pay quality prices. Truly great camera giving excellent quality photos (photos not pictures) this I find really annoying.

Good camera BUT Sony really needs step software

Sony A7c is a good camera, as far as all autofocus, image and video quality goes. But Sony software is terrible. iPhone app disconnects for no reason. There are no FW updates for the camera. Every Sony camera has a different menu layout, features, because Sony never updates camera software and this has become super annoying recently Sony releasing tons of new models and not fixing all current cameras.

I upgraded from an alpha 68 to this camera and I have no regrets. Solid and well built also very compact but with all the features of a larger body. The only thing it's missing is a dial on the front. Even though I was used to this with my old camera I quickly adjusted and got used to this layout. The kit lens is surprisingly good too. Would have been nice if it was a touch wider but its still very capable for landscapes and street photography. The screen is good a d very versatile the only issue with this is the fact you can't interact with menus using thr touch screen hence 4 stars on design. Its the older Sony menu layout but its tried and tested in mu opinion. This camera is basically an a7 iii with better auto focus, whats not to like?

This is my first Sony, full frame, having made the switch from Nikon full frame. So far very impressed with the quality of build and function. The menu seems a bit convoluted but as I become more familiar no doubt things will improve. Lovely looking camera the A7C, reminiscent of the old rangefinder cameras I loved back in the 70’s.

Incredible full frame performance in a small body

Just like you, I read/watched numerous videos/articles about which camera (make/model) to purchase. The final decision rested between the a7c and the more expensive a7iv. The a7c seems to offer the same level of performance in a smaller, lighter body and saves quite a few hundred £! The perceived negatives from some reviweres - small viewfinder, 'lack' of customisable buttons seem completely irrelevant in practice. Several buttons can be reprogrammed, custom profiles can be quickly saved and used to capture that perfect fleeting moment without losing time. The viewfinder is great in my opinion. It is clear and doesnt squish your nose against the back screen. With the kit lens or the 35mm 1.8, this little beast fits into my small waist bag!
Love it.

There is only one thing I don't like about this camera and that is the flappy screen. Most people seem to love it, I hate it. I much prefere the screen on my A6000 as it is safely tucked in behind the camera at all times instead of sticking out the side just waiting to get knocked into. It also makes shooting from waist height difficult as its in the way of your left hand to support the camera. Other than that I absolutely love it hence my 5* rating.

The camera is an extremely compact package for a full frame camera but doesn’t compromise on usability and ergonomics, it feels really natural to use but can be taken pretty much anywhere. The menu systems are familiar to anyone used to Sony products and easy to navigate with shortcut buttons. The image quality and auto focus is as good as advertised plus the 4k video is superb with fantastic eye recognition for focusing. Battery life is excellent and easy to charge with usb-c connection. Really enjoying this camera and very pleased with our purchase, used mainly for vlogging for our campervan YouTube channel so features like the 180 degree screen and auto focus were really important - highly recommended.

I bought this camera in order to re-activate my self in photography after a rather long hiatus. I chose it for three main reasons: 1. It is Full Frame, 2, it is very compact and 3. it has a tilting and rotating screen. The last point may seem not very important but if you have not used a rotate & tilt screen you do not know what you are missing. After I bought the camera, I discovered that the viewfinder itself is great and I am using it almost 80% of the time. Customisation of functions on keys and buttons is also very important to me because I have re-assigned functions to readilly accessible dials (e.g. selection of picture category, selection of focusing method, Exposure lock). Oversall, i highly recommend this camera to anybody wishing to move from DSLR styled cameras to mirorless. The difference in size while keeping the full frame image is a strong point.
Great compact full frame camera.

I bought this as a second body to go with my A7RIII, for when I don't want to lug a big camera bag around. I bought it with the kit lens (28-60) which is amazingly small but produces really clear images. Pleasantly surprised by the focus and exposure of this small camera. My only concerns are the small viewfinder and the brightness of the screen when using it outdoors.

Good: + The obvious one: Size and weight very small for a full-frame (FF)-- my main reason to buy this camera, or indeed, to switch back to Sony from Fuji + Despite the size and FF, still an IBIS mechanism in the body + Good hybrid camera; easy switch between stills and movie, whilst remembering all different settings for both (except for aperture setting, even for lenses that have electronically controlled apertures) + Fast autofocus, huge lens selection + Better colour technology than the A7III (though not all movie profiles) + Movie recording duration not limited to the artificial 30 mins + Reasonable battery capacity, USB charging of battery possible + Flipscreen + Nice integration with separate flash unit F28RM Not fun: - Single card slot - Only 1/4000th mechanical shutter, only 1/8000th electronic shutter, complicating e.g. F/1.4 (or F/1.2...) pictures on sunny days. - I've seen massive moire during filming; more so than with e.g. the Fujifilm X-T4 - Sharpness of kit lens is ok, but can have much purple fringing. The images don't really pop for me. Mechanical quality of kit lens so-so. But I have done some successful filming with it, and sure enough, the kit lens is very small, so easy to take along. The menu system is convoluted, but once you're used to it and especially once all set, it is not that bad; stronger, one rarely needs to access it, the more because the 'Fn'-button gives quick access to context-dependent (and changeable) menu options. Next iteration (let's call it the "A7c-II") should have, in order of importance, most important (for me) first: - Double card slot - 1/8000th mechanical shutter speed, 1/20000th electronic shutter - Much higher resolution sensor to be able to outresolve patterns that cause moire (and to give headroom for stills crops), without anti-aliasing filter to get more sharpness (seems contradictory, I know); and to compensate for increased file size a better compression algorithm for the .ARWs. Perhaps the A7RIV sensor will be old enough by that time that it can be utilized cost-effectively in the A7c-II? Add to this a good oversampling algorithm to reduce moire in filming. - Higher flash sync speed than 1/160th Less important, but nice to have: - Latest A7S-III menu system - Joystick - Front dial button - Higher resolution viewfinder. That said, the current one does the job. - Remembering the aperture setting for digitally controlled lenses when switching back and forth between video and stills - Some people are bothered that this camera does not have 4K/60p. I am not one of those. But I guess to keep the A7c-II competitive, the next iteration should have 4K/60p. (I'd rather have the S-Cinetone profile...) - Simple integrated flash with a guide number of, say, 8, perhaps at the front of the camera a la Fujifilm X-100V. This will help with simple fill-in work and keeps the system compact. Perhaps difficult to find space on such a small body for a little flash light, also taking into account the size of lenses larger than the kit lens.
