Stained Glass Solar System Craft Kit - National Geographic

These supplies are dollar store supplies. I love the idea of the kit, and my kid enjoyed it…but the price on this is insane, I guess once it was all done and put together it hit me that this was a rip off.

My art loving and curious minded child loved this. Great way to incorporate learning with creativity. We had a lot of fun creating and learning about the solar system. I love this product! Would recommend

My daughter absolutely loved this stained glass set! It is easy to use and I love that it is glow in the dark. We hung the finished pieces in her room and it looks so cool at night and provides her some light.

My daughter enjoyed this kit very much. It has a cardboard mobile that looks like space to attach the finished planets to. Looks very cool hanging up. There is glow in the dark and metallic paint. The instruction booklet was very nice and in-depth about the colors to use and info about the planets. It even had info about the history of stained glass. All around a good education project.

My girls (7 & 8) and I had fun completing this National Geographic Stained Glass Solar System Craft Kit. It comes with everything you need to make your own solar system mobile or sun catchers for your window that look like stained glass. Beside this being a hands-on craft, the books included in the kit were entertaining and educational too! It teaches you all about both the solar system & the origins of stained glass making. The actual painting part was messy & fun, but the mobile was a little time consuming to put together. That part might require more help from an adult if younger kids are completing this activity. Overall a neat craft, especially if your kids love space!

My almost 5 yr old completed this kit, with only little assistance - so it is good if considering for a younger age group. This kit comes with 8 planets and a sun (no Pluto, for those of you wondering), paint, suction cups and a "base" to hang planets as a mobile/sun-catcher. It is a nice kit, but I was not impressed with the paint, it just seemed very transparent. See photos - in low light, it's difficult to see the color at all, but hanging in a window works better. Definitely go heavy on the paint, glob it on, there is plenty included - apply a second later after drying if needed, then it looks better. I would prefer this have a lower price point than other craft kits in this collection, but it was a good 45 min activity for my 5 yr old. One suction cup was missing the hook, but I used a twist tie and it worked just fine.

This stained glass kit has inspired my daughter! She has been asking so manu questions about planets, space, and the sky. I love that it has opened her mind up. The kit is very easy to use. All of the paints are perfect colors for planets. I like that there isnt just one or two options. The different choices kept my daughter very entertained. Highly recommend to little curious minds.

Super fun project for kids age 8+ to explore the planets while creating their own color combinations. The instructions were easy for my 10 yr old son to follow as he put all the pieces out. He loved picking the paint combinations to create the look of each planet! I can’t wait to see them hung in his room!
