Pellets vs hay - 16 days ago

My 34 year old horse recently had issues digesting hay. My vet suggested I try switching him to Standlee alfalfa/timothy pellets. He absolutely loves this and not too large so I don't have to soak down. And better yet is returning to his normal self. No more having to go out each morning and wash him down.

I recently switched my horse to a forage diet. This product has been perfect. I soak them because he’s an older gentleman and his teeth are not great. This allows me to put his joint supplement, flax and any other product needed in with it, and he eats it without hesitation

My horses love these pellets. I feed a forage based diet, so they get soaked pellets instead of grain. They also double as treats!

We have an older (27) mare who my daughter runs poles on. She had a hard winter & so I wanted to try something to get her built back up. The Timothy pellets worked fantastic! She actually loved them more than her grain! She would leave her grain & go eat her pellets first!
Awesome product!!

I'm really glad I decided to try these pellets. It's helping keep good weight on my girls while we wait for spring grass to grow, and for the spring floods to recede. It is stretching my hay supply too. My senior mare and my draft mare really enjoy the taste and texture, and clean their pellets up every night.

I love this product because it gives the nutritional benefits of high quality forage in a more palatable form for old or very young horses who do not have all their teeth. This is my favorite product for those prone to choke, as I know they are meeting their nutritional needs while giving me peace of mind.

My mare does great on these pellets. I feed them in addition to her fortified feed since she has the classic Thoroughbred metabolism and needs more calories. She’s a picky eater but is happy to eat these.

This is the first time I tried hay pellets, and I'm glad I did! My horses love them! It helps my senior mare hold her weight, and it helps stretch my hay budget.

My 29 year old gelding has PPID and his teeth are worn. He is a hard keeper and a fussy eater. On one Prascend pill daily. Hay was removed from his diet because of choking concerns. Chopped timothy hay and alfalfa/timothy cubes were added. He still gets a low NSC senior grain. Everything is soaked. The alfalfa/timothy pellets were just added for a variety. He loves it. His appetite is great and he has gained weight and energy has increased.
