Q: Is this the first version or the upgraded model?

submitted by Kurt - 1 month ago
  • A: Hi Kurt, thanks for reaching out about SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gaming Headset for PC. When discussing the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gaming Headset, it's important to understand that there are variations within the Nova 7 line, designed for different platforms. So it is not necessarily "first version" or "upgraded model" but rather different versions for different systems. Here's a breakdown: SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7: This is the base model, generally geared towards PC users. SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P: This version is specifically designed for PlayStation consoles (PS5, PS4). SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X: This version is designed for Xbox consoles (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One). Key points to remember: The "Nova 7" line is a relatively recent product line from SteelSeries, so you're likely encountering the current generation of these headsets. The differences between the 7, 7P, and 7X models primarily relate to their platform compatibility. There are also special edition versions of these headsets, that have themed designs. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Had the Arctis 3 before, and thought why update, this works great. Well, the nova 7 contruction feels better, the sounds quality feels better, and the wireless ability is more welcomed then I would have thought. Worth the upgrade to this product.

    Ultra-versatile, high-end gaming headset

I've been using the Arctis Nova 7 Wireless for a few weeks now, and it's by far one of the best headsets I've tested. The sound quality is excellent, both for gaming and for listening to music. The sound is immersive, with deep bass and very clear vocals. The retractable microphone is also very practical and offers good pick-up quality, ideal for multiplayer sessions. Wireless connectivity is smooth, and I love the ability to switch easily between PC and PS5. Battery life is solid (around 30 hours), and the headset is very comfortable even after several hours of gaming. Little bonus: the design is sober and elegant, and it insulates well from outside noise. 100% recommendation! Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

I bought the Nova 7 Wireless to replace my aging well-worn Arctis 7 headset. Given the near-decade I'd had and used the first SteelSeries device, replacing it with another was a no-brainer. I saved 20% through an e-letter coupon deal, and as usual I'm excited! The Nova 7 fits over my funky ears (my ears are somewhat misshapen and definitely symmetrical) easily, and the headband helps keep the weight evenly distributed. It will take me a while to get used to where the buttons are for on/off and the volume knob, but that's because I spent so long on a prior model. The Nova 7 was literally plug-and-play for me, and I've only had to recharge the interal battery once so far with daily use over a month after purchase. The fast-charge USB-C is a stellar upgrade from the older micro-USB I was used to.

    Perfect Headphones for a Multi-Device-Setup!

These Headphones are extremely versatile. Of course you can just plug them in and use them richtig away. But you can use them with multiple devices simultaneously. For example, I use them with my laptop, my PC and my Smartphone to play games, watch videos and call with colleagues. With the SteelSeries app you can apply different sound profiles for different channels. Also they are very comfortable to wear. Sometimes i wear them several hours a day and they are still cushy.

I got this headset to try with a PS5, but I’m glad I didn’t test it with that first and went for my PC instead. Sidetone (hearing your mic via your headphones) can’t be disabled in the current version of the PC software for these headphones, and therefore almost certainly can’t on PS5 where there isn’t any. That alone is a deal breaker. I did use these to play Final Fantasy XIV via PC and the audio was certainly immersive, but it wasn’t so impressive that I’d look past the flaws. According to my friends, the mic was ok, so if you’re looking for a good mic this may not be for you. Build quality did feel nice for the brief time I spent with them.

The audio quality on these had a constant high-pitched whine because you can't disable the mic feedback setting while the mic is on. The input quality sounded tinny and distant, worse than cheap Bluetooth headphones. The earpieces felt like a mix between burlap and newspaper. Genuinely the worst headphones I have ever tried.

Sound quality/Microphone Quality First off: the ear pads are spacious and soft. They are about 2 1/3 inches by 1.5 inches. And for me that is a dream. I can’t imagine most people are using the dual talk. But, that wasn’t something I was interested in. The software is fine. The split works as well as expected. I’d really test it though with Discord and calls alike to see how it works rather than being all irritated if you can’t get it right away. Cellular vs Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi seems more clear. It also is USB-C like it says but if you’re using a computer that isn’t your regular USB connectivity you’re still fine. This thing comes with adapters for USB, and even Audio Jack (wired). There were no issues with sound. Everything was clear and clean. I tried YouTube, Discord Streams, Video Games (Guild Wars, Overwatch, Diablo, Valorant etc). But, if you’re emulating an old game you might hear some like static. So, yeah. Also, the only time someone said I sounded bad was when the microphone was tucked away, but easy fix by pulling it out. Steelseries has been my go to for headsets for years and their products are quality. Tbh, I’m not sure why these reviews are so poor from most recent. You can also switch out the ear pads too if yours get dirty. Price match because this thing isn’t cheap. I still have other Steelseries, but I wanted a new one and I use my old ones for travel or extras for people.

If I could give it negative stars I really would, but I will say the fit isn’t all to bad. They’re not heavy by any means and the band fits well on the head but they are kinda big in the instance that they don’t fit snug on the head even with the adjustable bands. The sound leak is quite literally dog crap and everyone could hear you including yourself even with trying to adjust it in the Logitech software. The sound is also terrible, even 20 dollar won’t headphones would sound and fit better then these terrible headphones. The mic is retractable and nice to wear but it just sucks butt man literally. (Mind the French) but for the price I expected so much more and I was so dissatisfied and disappointed with this terrible sounding product. Wouldn’t recommend on any device “ since it’s all inclusive” with that either I tried on console, phone and pc and was terrible on them all. Came with 50% battery and wouldn’t know how long it would take to charge but I wouldn’t recommend at all for the price. 0/10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is a huge gamer so I knew the Arctis Nova 7 would go to him. The hard part of this was getting him to take them off long enough to tell me if he likes them. Needless to say, he loves them. The sound quality is amazing. I had a chance to put them on and understood why he doesn't hear me call him when he wears them. It's so clear and crisp! They are super easy to charge and they aren't too big and bulky.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally dislike using headphones because they always get uncomfortable after a while and are just a pain to use. These are honestly the best headphones I have tried. They are very comfortable as they don’t sit heavy on top your head. They cup my ears without pressure or getting too hot. I don’t have a wire getting tangled in my hair or limiting my mobility. The sound quality is excellent and I love having volume controls directly on the headset. I don’t use the mic but my son does, so it’s nice to be able to retract it easily if you don’t want it in your face. We have been using this with our PC and connecting it is super easy with the dongle. Games and videos sound great with this headset. Overall, these are great headphones. They are comfortable, convenient, and easy to use. The sound quality is great for games and videos on PC, and I like that they can be used on our other video game systems as well. I am really impressed with these.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with this product. It's so cool to have a pair of headphones for all our different gaming systems. They are obviously high quality and quite durable. They are really comfortable on my ears, my kids don't even complain about them and they don't usually like this style of headphones. The sound is clear and loud enough for my gaming. I really enjoy using them, they are MUCH better than our other gaming headphones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven’t used a lot of gaming headsets so I don’t have much experience to compare this to but I’ve been pretty happy with it. It’s fairly simple to set up even for me who can sometimes be technologically challenged. The sound quality is very good and I don’t get any static from it. I like the wireless design and it’s easy enough to move the receiver thing to a different device when I want to use a different system. It fits comfortably and doesn’t pinch anywhere so I can use it for hours if I want to with no discomfort. Overall it’s a pretty neat rig and I was actually surprised with how long the battery lasts between charges. Most wireless stuff does way too fast for my liking but I’ve only had to charge this set about once a week and I get plenty of use out of it.
