Junk - 1 year ago
I have bought a number of Sunbeam blankets over the years, but these and Binneford are junk. They don't last a full season. No amount of customer service "unplug it and plug it back in" nonsense can fix the fact that they're still junk. You give them as a gift, you expect them to work. Shame on any company that sells garbage like this.

I think I can say that I don't intend on spending my money with sunbeam heated blankets again. I know they’ve been producing blankets for years and years so with that being said, one would think they’d have it figured out by now. This time the controller blinks and blinks like so many other customers. No amount of resetting has corrected it. Signed: one COLD and furious customer.

Thank you for reaching out to Sunbeam®. We are sorry to hear that your heated blanket's controller is blinking. That is not the kind of experience that we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. If your heating blanket's controller is blinking, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the cord is not properly attached to the unit itself. To fix this problem, please do the following to reset your product: 1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical connection and from the actual product itself for 3-5 minutes. 2. Re-plug the cord into the product. Make sure the connection is secure and complete. 3. Re-insert the power cord back into a wall outlet. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips, and power converters or inverters as it may affect the heated blanket's performance. Your Sunbeam® Fleece Heated Blanket has a 5-year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly or fill out the Contact Us link below to help you get to the best resolution. Just like many of the other posters, my blank stopped work. I didn't wash it or over use it. During the California rain event, the blank didnt work. No more heat even at the highest setting. Had a Sunbeam blank that lasted 3years with almost daily use. This one did not last even 4 months with very sparse use

One controller just blinks while the other controller and side of the heating blanket is working. Have tried to unplug/replug connections as instructed. Still does not work. This is my third sunbeam in three years. The previous two all quite working after one year. Trying to find another brand for heated blankets now.

Thank you for contacting the Sunbeam® Brand. We appreciate your time and effort for bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that the Sunbeam® Fleece Heated Blanket with Dial Control did not exceed your expectations and that its controller blinks. This is certainly not the experience we want you to have. We will be more than happy to rectify your issue today. If your bedding product is not working properly, it could be because the unit is not getting enough power or there’s an internal error found. A blanket, mattress pad or heated throw will not heat for the following reasons: 1. Bedding product is plugged into an extension cord and plugged into a direct wall outlet. 2. Bedding product wasn't plugged in properly. 3. The 10 hour auto-off activated (some models) 4. Temperature control was not turned to the highest setting and adjusted for personal comfort. 5. Dual control blanket controls are operating on the wrong sides. 6. Make sure control isn't in the off position. Also check if there's physical damage on its cord. If there's none, please try to perform the troubleshooting steps below in case your bedding is still turning on. 1. Turn the blanket control to the "Off" position and unplug the power cord from the electrical connection. Let it rest for 2 minutes. 2. Check the bedding product plug connection that directly plugs into the bedding product. Make sure the connection is secure and complete. 3. Hold the power button down and re-insert the power cord back into a wall outlet at the same time. 4. Turn control to “HI” and wait 5-7 minutes. If the steps above are not followed in order, the bedding product will not properly reset. If these measures won't work and the problem still persists, take note that our heated blankets have a 5 year limited warranty, if you have any questions about the warranty or want to get warranty service, please contact Sunbeam® directly so that we can provide you with a better solution. Have a nice day! https://www.sunbeam.com/support/contact-us

I unplugged it from the wall as well as the plug directly into the blanket. It still does not work, does warm and all it does is blink.....

I bought mine 4/16/21. I live in Oklahoma so did not need it during our summer heat. However my grandma flew in and I assured her I bought her a heated blanket and it to bring hers. She does not sleep well at all without a heated blanket! So I opened it up so proudly bc I made her smile. And then BOOOOOOM! Here comes her disappointed look because it will not even turn on. She has already bought a ticket home for tomorrow instead of 1 week. So thanks sunbeam for not following through on a product you sell that does not work. Why did I not listen to all these reviews???!!!????!!!

Bought this blanket in October or November of 2020 to keep warm since my bedroom has very little to no heat. It worked great and kept me warm all night. Now its near the end of February 2021 and it quit working. All the controller does is blink. I unplugged it to "reset" the blanket. Well guess what, that didn't work. Still blinks. So now I am stuck in a cold room with no way to stay warm. Thank you very much Sunbeam. And I used to think your products were great. I am no re-evaluating all of them.

Bought this nov 10 2020. Its February 2021 and it will barely get warm. I only bought sunbeam electric blankets for many years. The last 3 years i have had to buy new ones because they die at precisely one year of use. This one 3 months. The one before 6 months. I am so disappointed. They start out very warm. And either stop all together or just fizzle to barely coming on. I am so careful when we wash them. I don't even leave them on high for fear of burning it out too soon. I won't buy this brand again! Oh and even had the same problem with the smaller throw size too. Sunbeam you really need to fix whatever you changed. You used to be a reliable brand/product!

Sunbeam? Are you listening? What happened between 2015 and now so that your product reduced in quality so much? I purchased my first full Sunbeam fleece electric blanket 5 years ago after having one in my family for even longer than that. The blanket finally stopped fully working this winter and I knew I would be getting a Sunbeam again after being happy for so long with your product. I slept with my new queen size blanket last night.. it blows. First of all, I must have gotten a bum blanket because only half of it heated up and the dial corresponding to the cool side just blinked all night- I won't hold that against you Sunbeam, bum products happen. I slept with it anyways because I was cold, tired, and had already made my bed. But that doesn't explain the most noticeable downgrade- the dial, its CHEAP! The dial spins like the Wheel of Fortune and its not backlit! I liked my previous dial that clicked into place because I could change the setting just by counting clicks and not even have to open my eyes (also an accessibility feature for vision impaired.) I woke up shivering in the middle of the night because the dial had spun all the way to 1. My previous blanket had a backlit and secure dial that I didn't have to take special care of while I slept. The blanket warmed up as quickly as expected and was otherwise fine except for ultimately being a faulty product. Only time will tell how long it will last, with the reduction of quality in the dial I can imagine that it will not last more than one season. I was also very surprised to see such awful reviews on this product after loving my Sunbeam and seeing Sunbeam blankets on so many "best of" and "top 10" lists. Don't let the lists fool you, Sunbeam electric blankets are no longer the best!! For these reasons I will be returning the blanket promptly and taking my business elsewhere, I guess I'll splurge and move on to L.L. Bean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this blanket as a gift for Christmas. It is so light weight. I love the fact that the heat seems to radiate to your body no matter where you laying in the bed. We have had very cold nights in lower teens and I love the just plain magical warmth. People should not expect to only feel it. You have to be in bed to really experience the warmth. It is not like any other heated blanket I have had. Do not rate it until you have actually tried it.Thank you Sunbeam.
