Book Synopsis

Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston knows when someone is lying. He may not know the truth, but he sure doesn't trust Tae, the woman who is caring for his ailing father at Sky King Ranch. Behind those beautiful blue eyes, he can tell there is a troubled--and smart--woman.

A few of her stories prove true--he's found the crashed plane and the dead body inside. Still, her story of survival seems too incredible to believe . . . until the thugs she claims to be hunting her show up and threaten Sky King Ranch. Now Tae must disappear, along with her secrets.

But Colt's not about to let her go it alone. And when they discover that her secrets include the antidote to a plague that threatens the world, it'll take all three Kingston brothers to save the country they've vowed to protect.

Susan May Warren brings her Sky King Ranch series to a climactic close with this high-stakes race against the clock.

Thrilling conclusion to the series!

All the loose threads from the overarching plot of the series tie together in this concluding book, as well as provide connections to the individual plots in Sunrise and Sunburst. Tae is on a mission to save the world, and Colt's mission is to save her. The epic plot is full of the adventure, suspense, and thrills of an action movie, while also pulling readers into the emotions, romance, and spiritual growth of our main characters. Colt and Tae are so impulsive that I wanted to smack my head sometimes, but with the support of the other Kingston brothers and a network of friends and colleagues, they stay one step ahead (barely) in their quest to thwart the villains threatening them and the country. I enjoyed the variety of locations in this series and it was so satisfying to have the continuing stories of Colt's brothers woven into this last book. Sundown by Susan May Warren is the third book in her Sky King Ranch series. I recommend reading the books in order as the characters and story develop through each book. Sundown focuses on Colt and the mysterious woman who has been recuperating at the Sky King ranch, Tae. As usual, when the Kingston men are around, trouble is always around the corner. The story's pace (and the romance!) keeps you turning pages as you deploy on one op after another with these warrior men. I loved seeing a softer, more reasonable side of Colt. In the other books, he was always distant and cocky. But on closer inspection, he’s got a soft heart in there–it’s just hidden by his kevlar. I enjoyed the interplay between Colt and Tae, the give and take that must happen in all relationships but especially in those where one half is stepping into battle on a regular basis. I loved seeing the growth in Tae. The strength she found. The courage she claimed. She is a perfect match for Colt. Since this is the last book in the series, I’m glad the other brothers made strong appearances. There’s just something right about them working together to save people. They were definitely made for fighting evil, and the author captures their different warrior hearts so well. Overall, this is one of my favorite romantic suspense series. I’d highly recommend it to anyone, but especially if you are a fan of Lynette Eason or Dani Pettrey. Sundown, and the rest of the series should be on your TBR! I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations of a positive review. All opinions are my own.

An exciting end to the Sky King Ranch series

Sundown is the third book in the Sky King Ranch series, and the reader would best understand the the characters and the backstory of Sundown if Sunrise and Sunburst were read first. In Sundown, Taylor Price and Colt Kingston are on the run, hiding from Russian mobsters who plan to deploy a deadly virus on U.S. soil. Taylor had figured out how to create the vaccine, but her notes are long gone, so she and her partner Zoe will have to try to re-create it. As Colt, with the help of his brothers Dodge and Ranger, and the rest of the special ops team work to take down the Russian mobsters and secure the virus, Taylor works not only to create the vaccine but to try to control the overwhelming feelings she has developed for Colt so she won’t be left with a broken heart when the mission is over. Sundown is full of action from start to finish — a very exciting read. I really love the characters in this whole series. The Kingston brothers — Colt, Dodge, and Ranger — are all very endearing characters, as is their father. Taylor, or Tae, as she is called throughout the book is not a new character to this book. She was introduced in the first book of the series, Sunrise, and her character has been built throughout the series. But we really get to know her well in this book, and she and Colt have such great chemistry. Both of these two main characters share a brokenness that come from loss and led to a deterioration of their sense of self-worth and their sense that they deserve to be loved. It crumbled their faith, and so this story is not just about them saving the U.S. from a deadly virus or about their feelings for each other. It’s about them learning that they are worthwhile and deserving of love and that God never abandoned them. Overall, I really enjoyed reading Sundown, and I appreciate the elements of faith that the author incorporates into her stories. *I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What an intense ending!

How do you like your romantic suspense? Do you like it to slowly build in intensity? Or do you like to dive right into the action? If it's the later then you are in for a real treat. This book (and the whole series) definitely hits the ground running. What a trip this series has been. We started in Alaska at the Sky King Ranch and then moved to Africa with the second installment. Sundown brings us back to the ranch in Alaska but quickly moves us to Florida. If you've read the first two books you've been introduced to Tae but so much of who she is has been a mystery. Her story has been ongoing in the background throughout the series, but with book three we get to find out all the details. And the details are frightening! We also get to know the rugged bad boy Colt. We first met him in book two where he was literally getting the snot beat out of him. He returned home to Alaska to recover but trouble followed and recovery had to wait. This was an intense ending to a fabulous series. In my opinion these are not stand alone books. While each book gives us the story of one of the brothers, there is an underlying story that involves Tae that stretches from book one to book three. It would be such a shame for you to miss the unfolding mystery by skipping the first two books. Treat yourself with all three! I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

This was such an amazing book and series! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Kingston Brothers in this Sky King Ranch series of three. This series is a keeper for my bookshelf to be read again and again! This book primarily focuses on Colt and Tae, but of course included the other Kingston brothers and previous characters from the other books. This Christian fiction had lots of action, drama, and some clean romance that kept my interest from beginning to end. Bio chemical warfare, assassins, and danger at every turn-once you start reading, you won’t want to stop! I enjoyed seeing the three brothers evolve in their relationships, forgiveness towards each other, allowing love into their lives, and realizing they aren’t invincible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND-I truly can’t say enough great things about this book and series! I have been reading books by this author for many years and she has never disappointed me! I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

Sundown is the third book in the Sky King Ranch series. I highly recommend reading them in order. I enjoyed the first two books in the series, Sunrise, and Sunburst. I was really looking forward to Sundown, but it did not live up to my expectations. I have mixed feelings about the book and will try to explain them. Also, I am reviewing the Kindle edition. First, I was excited to finally get Colt's story. However, he shares the limelight with his brothers and Tae, with the POV changing between them. I feel Colt got cheated since he didn't get as much coverage as his brothers did. The changing POV was confusing, and in the Kindle version, there was no separation of scenes (you had chapter breaks but no line spaces or anything telling you the POV changed). This got on my nerves. Also, with the changing of perspectives, we got the same conversation twice, especially at the beginning of the book. Once was enough, thank you very much. Another thing that bothered me was that there were too many coincidences to be believable. Plus, the random changes of topics. There were some great quotes like this one: "You don't have to be in charge of everything. I know it's scary, and you hate feeling helpless, but instead of theorizing the end of the story, what if you just...let the story unravel as it should?" There were some great scenes as well. However, the bioweapon warfare, all the science talk, and the detailed fights were not for me. I am glad I read this one, and it ends nicely, but it was not up to the same standard as the first two (in my opinion). Thank you to Net Galley and Revell for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"Saving the world is not your responsibility." but Taylor believes it is and with the help of her protector/bodyguard, Colt Kingston, she sets out to prove it. Taylor is running against the clock to make a vaccine that could save millions of lives while a terrorist is on her trail who will stop at nothing to keep her from succeeding. Colt and his brothers use their former military skills to keep this from happening. This is the EPIC conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series. I loved the inspirational messages that flowed throughout this book besides the action, adventure, suspense, and romance.

I was happy to revisit the guys of Sky King Ranch, and they along with the women in their lives were once again living on the edge. The danger this time centered on Colt and Tae, danger from the elements as well as from terrorists. Of course his brothers have their backs and join them in the thick of things. While I did enjoy this story, I did not enjoy it as much as I did the second book in this series. It lacked the realism of that book which was a distraction, and it was more predictable. That said, it still brought me enough reading pleasure that I feel comfortable recommending it to others. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Sundown from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

"Bravery isn't the absence of fear. It's doing what you must do, despite the fear." Wow, the conclusion of the Sky King Ranch is a doozy. Overflowing with adrenaline, unbelievable action, heart-pounding plot twists, incredible faith lessons, and tender romance, Colt and Tae's story will enchant you from the first page. From the frozen beauty of Alaska to warm humidity of Florida, you'll feel like you're right there with them as the characters work against the clock to find and neutralize a bioweapon. I loved Tae's logical, scientific mind that complimented Colt's impulsive, creative spirit. Their shared goal to make a difference in the world by saving lives bound them together despite their differences. Ranger and Noemi had voices in this story as well; their life together as a married couple facing so many challenges was a tear-jerker but also a heart-warmer. Seeing the Caleb Group again, along with references to some of the Montana Marshalls, was so much fun. Jones, Inc. group had a big presence in the story and I'm hoping to see more of the guys from the group in future Susan May Warren's books. The beauty of redemption and forgiveness is displayed in full color as the Kingston triplets finally all come home. You can't go wrong with a Susan May Warren novel. She consistently delivers mind-blowing romantic suspense filled with memorable and lovable characters. I can't wait for her next series! I received the book from the publisher via NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

This is the third and final book in the Sky King Ranch series. I have to say that to me this book had the most action which started from the very first page. The chapters are a little longer than I would normally like; however, the action makes it read fast so it offsets the chapter length. The suspense part of this book is a little terrifying if you think too hard because it could realistically happen. The author does such a great job of bringing all these characters to life. I also love that all of the family are included from the beginning of this book. I would recommend this book to anyone. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.
