I have bought this system 2 years ago to replace previous SWANN system, well now I feel very disappointed with the product. Within 2 years I have to replace 8 times the cameras with this same fault, spotlight burn out but SWANN is not interested in solving the issue or investigate why is happening just sending me replacement cameras which is ok but what when warranty runs out and I have this problem all the time what then? I'm tired jumping on ladders and replacing every time cameras when they gone. So for that fact I would not recommend this system unless you like to replace cameras all the time.

This time I ordered SWANN 4K, the image is very clear and it has audio only. The only thing that I missed from the previous SWANN cameras is that I used to see at night in colors. This one unless it detects motion will go on in color and back to black/white at night. Also, when motion is detected, it lags the recording. I still need to find out what’s causing the lagging; otherwise I’m very happy with my purchase.

Good until it's not

Unfortunately I am dealing with the dvr not recognizing the hdd, which worked great until it didn't. I previously had a swann dvr system for 4 cameras and it was decent enough but the detection was terrible. On this updated system it was going wild, but I did find the area to change the sensitivity. The Red blue lights as well as the spotlight and siren are great features if you are need of those things, I would probably set it up when away from home. The audio is decent, and actually a kind of let down but it could be the area I live, it tends to pick up the slightest hint of wind, yet doesn't pick up my neighbors insanely loud music. Which is the main reason for purchasing the audio cameras. The video quality is good. The app is easy to set up with the exception of adding my Dropbox, it says on the dvr it's connected but I don't see any videos in Dropbox which is kinda crucial for me right now since the hdd is not detected. I really don't want to go through taking down the cameras and packaging them back up just for a return but I am afraid that is my only option. The thing I also struggled with was watching clips in the app, the live feed is awesome but not the playback of recorded clips, it would often say that it doesn't have any clips for that day. Also in the app on the previous dvr would allow me to watch playback and being snap short clips .

I have set up the Swann system with 6 cameras (purchased 2 more separately). The stream quality can be quite slow and laggy although the picture quality is good. Was disappointed to learn (after installing all the cameras) that you can only upload 2 cameras footage to Dropbox cloud storage maximum. Which leaves my other 4 cameras footage vulnerable should the DVR box ever get stolen. After learning this, I wish I had gone with another brand of security system that is more user friendly and up to date with cloud

Being able to upgrade my system to one that has phone app capability is also nice. I switched from a wireless/WiFi system to this because i was tired of the charging and poor quality camera. The wired set up is annoying but at least it's just done once then you have access to a great system!

It has sensor flashing lights, spotlights & sirens which helps detect intruders. This has a video retention upto an year which is very convenient. I like how powerful the night vision is with these cameras. These cameras can easily be controlled via the mobile app and also connect with Alexa and Google. These cameras were very easy to install. They came with clear installation instructions and everything was well labeled. Overall its a great security system and easy to use.

Only took me about an hour and a half to install the whole system (4 wired cameras and the 2tb DVR). The video quality is amazing during the day and one of the best at night. There are very little false alarms due to the True detect feature. It does an amazing job knowing the difference between a person, car, animal, and shadows from the sun changing. My old system would get tons of false alarms because of the lighting change through out the day. This system is easy to use, the interface on the DVR is easy to navigate around, and the mobile app works very well too, and put together nicely. Works great with Google Assistant/Alexa. The cameras work very well at night too, get color in darker lighting than my old system, and the night vision is amazingly clear. I can rest at night knowing I have a great system watching over my property and family while we are sleeping, or away from home. With the added flashing blue and red lights on the cameras helps scare unwanted people away. If you are looking for a security system, don’t hesitate, get this one. The DVR is expandable to 8 cameras, more then you’ll ever need. I’m am extremely happy with this Swann Enforcer security system, having the 4K Resolution is a game changer, and a must have. The details are incredible. Love it. Very happy with this system.

Great security system with great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Swann Enforcer 4 camera 8 channel 4K ultra HD DVR audio / video security system for around my house. The step by step installation instructions made the installation and camera setup easy. Once I got the camera system setup I was impressed with the video clarity both during the day and full color at night and the clarity of the sound on the cameras. The true detect, which is heat and motion sensing technology, is very impressive as well. The system has come with a 2TB hard drive which can retain about a year worth of recordings. Although I got the 4 camera system the 8 channel DVR allows for the expansion of an additional 4 cameras. The cameras allow a considerable amount of dexterity but not 360 degrees. You will need to plan the camera locations carefully to ensure the rough in locations are planned to the camera’s ability to get the desired view. I also like the app interface and is very easy to use.

Plug and Play Home Security

While those things are true, I dont feel like I need to reiterate these points. I would like to instead say a few words about the ease of install this particular kit has. I am not an electrician, nor a carpenter or even an audio video enthusiast, much less a technician. Despite all of those things being true, I felt and looked like a professional throughout the install of this system. It is labeled and color coded sufficiently that a kindergartner could secure and monitor a 3000 square foot tree house unaided. The little instruction cards and wire connectors made it Impossible to mess up. I wish more components across all consumer electronics were engineered to the level of this system. View the photos for examples. You cannot go wrong here. Swann hit it out of the park.

Seems to capture good even in the dark very well which impressed me. Lights and all other features just an added bonus with this set up. Simple install great for the home do it yourself type.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great surveillance system, but it took a very long time to install with all of the wiring. Lots of drilling inside and outside of my home. Once installed, it's great. I love that it keeps footage recorded on its hard drive. To view everything you must connect it to a computer or laptop. If I had to do it again, I'd look for a more wireless option.

Amazing security system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received the security system a couple days ago and I was so excited to install it. It was very easy to install. It has crystal clear resolution on my TV. The cameras are very durable and they also work very well in the rain or snow. I love the idea that when it's recording at night you get colored video on your device. The cameras are also heat and motion sensitive so they record everything that happens. There is also so much memory on the DVR that it will last a whole year with a recording. You also could set it up that you can see everything happening on your smartphone which is amazing. And one of the coolest features on the cameras is that you can set it up that if somebody comes onto your property they will Flash red and blue lights with a siren. I highly recommend the security system for anyone who wants to feel safe at home.

It works but....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm pretty tech savvy and I actually followed the directions carefully during the setup. It's been 3 days and I still can't get this to work with the app. It is working but there are a LOT of wires everywhere. The video may technically be 4k but the quality is very poor. Colors are poor and you will struggle to recognize people in the room. It does pick up sounds very well and the alarm feature may frighten some people. You are getting a budget system of 4 cameras and dvr for a good price but this misses too many features for me to recommend.

They also have microphones so you get audio with your videos. The app is very user friendly and the system itself is super easy to set up. I would highly recommend this system.

System is very easy to setup and use and the phone app works Excellent as well. We are able to watch our house inside and out no matter where in the world we are, provides us with peace of mind.
