Q: Is this frequently used as a pie crust? I am looking to make a pie and if this works I might have to make a few pies.
A: Sweet Loren’s makes a pie crust. Pie crust and puff pastry are completely different in texture and thickness. I personally would not use puff pastry crust for pie crust. It would alter the taste of your pie as well.
submitted byCy - 5 months agoA: Hi there! You can certainly use our Puff Pastry as a pie crust. We recommend scoring and pre-baking the Puff Pastry for a few minutes to ensure that the pastry fully bakes through. The Puff Pastry makes an incredible pie-topper for fun designs & a flaky bite!

Q: Can you make pop tarts with these? If so, how would you go about getting the best results for flakiness? My daughter can't have egg so I don't know what a substitute for an egg wash would be.??
A: Hi there! Thanks for asking! Yes, our community loves making pop tarts with our puff pastry! If you can't use egg, we recommend a milk wash with a milk of your choice, whether that's dairy or non-dairy. This will help promote browning as an egg wash would! If you have more questions, email us at hello@sweetlorens.com !

Q: Is this kosher? If so, what is the kosher supervision? Thank you!
A: At this time, our Puff Pastry is not Certified Kosher. With that being said, third party certifications are extremely important to us to make sure you know our claims surrounding Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Vegan, Kosher, and more are verified and validated. That being said, they do take quite some time to become official and ready for packaging. For our new products, we’re working on our typical certifications that our other products have always had and will update packaging when ready. Please always refer to the packaging on the product for the latest information!

Q: Will this work for beef Wellington Or will it be chewy
A: Hi there! Thanks for reaching out - for recipes like Beef Wellington, we recommend using egg wash on both sides of the puff pastry to ensure maximum crisp and flakiness. Additionally, wrap your beef and mushroom in prosciutto or Parma ham if you are able to, to prevent sogginess. Reach out to hello@sweetlorens.com for any additional questions! Good luck, we can't wait to see your creation!

Q: Mine turned out a bit chewy and not as flaky? Any tips? I was making a ham, broccoli and cheese ring. Thank you!
A: Hi there! Thank you for purchasing and trying out our Puff Pastry! We recommend that you keep the dough as cold as possible throughout the filling process to ensure maximum flakiness when baking. Try chilling the dough after filling, as it may have warmed up as you filled it. Otherwise, just ensure you bake until golden brown and crisp to the touch!
