Targus USB-C DP Alt Mode Single Video 4K HDMI/VGA Docking Station with 100W PD Pass-Thru

Bought 5 of these USB-C docking stations for our companies laptops so they could connect two monitors at the same time using the VGA and HDMI connections and they don't work. The only thing that works is connecting a mouse of keyboard to it to use an external keyboard and mouse. Even tried connecting just one VGA monitor to it and it won't work nor just the HDMI connecting.

Ordered by my mistake and cancelled within thirty minutes. Targus still charged me and despatched the goods several days later. I had to refuse the delivery when it eventually arrived. Having refused the delivery, Targus still made me wait another week until the goods arrived back before refunding. Will not be using them again.

Since my laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, I tried the Targus dock419 to be able to use the higher speeds. We have a 1000 mbps fiber connection, which works OK for normal internet use. But on longer video calls (15+ minutes) the connection gets lost and I have to reboot before I can use it again. Not impressed. (On wifi, the videocalls work fine, but of course with limited bandwith).

It's 2021 and this is still only 4K 30Hz (HDMI 1.4 standard), most monitors are already at 2K 60Hz+ but this thing can only do 1080P 60Hz

I wasn't impressed with the connection. The resolution wasn't up to par and the connected display was pixelated and glitchy.

I am now working from home and have two kiddos in virtual school so having easy options for multiple setups is great!

Wish he hadn't lost his job and was still using it. Hopefully it will be of use again when he gets his next job. If you need a workstation...get this one!!

This gets the job done! I love the small, compact design and have found that it is very easy to travel with. Easy hookup and no stability issues. It's exactly what I needed. Very highly recommend.

Makes my workspace look more organized with less clutter. The connection works great and is consistent. I also like how portable this product is, I am currently working from home but when I work at my office again this device is coming with me. I would recommend this product to others easy to setup, looks organized/neat and takes up little space.

While I was happy to get a new computer at first, it turned out to be a lot of trouble later on. Whenever I visited another office, none of their docking stations worked for the new computer. This meant that I had to try to do all of my work on a very small laptop. Once I got this new docking station, however, it saved the day! I simply drop it in my backpack and I'm good to go. Several co-workers are, or already have, purchased this docking station. I'll be getting at least one more, in the very near future, for home use. The children all have school issued laptops but they're very small too. I find it very difficult to try to help them on such tiny screens. I'll be using this docking station so that I plug in duel monitors and a keyboard. I'd definitely recommend this docking station for home or office use!

I ordered it for use on my computer; I have a Mac which only has USB C connectors, making it hard to use an optical mouse. With this I am able to connect my optical mouse AND can also use it to connect an additional monitor. Just plug it in and it is ready to use. Easy peasy.

It's pretty handy as it allows me to plug in multiple things such as keyboard, mouse, magic jack. It does not take up very much room. It was easy to hook up and has been working great for me so far.
