Q: Did not realize the slime included in this lair had leaked through to my hardwood floor until the next day. Somehow, it stained my floor black. Any idea how to clean it? I’ve tried everything..

A: The back of the lair is hard cardboard with some plastic attachments. I however reinforced and retrofitted the back and side areas to be able to withstand my "rugged" playing kiddos.

I loved that the hard cardboard backwall has been replaced with a plastic backboard. I purchased the original for my sons but after a while I had to retrofit the hard board backwall. I saw that Target had the lair at near 50% off so I decided to purchase another. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the back and sidewall were revamped and are now all plastic. The lair is a must have for all TMNT fans.

purchased the sewer place set for my son was a little bit difficult putting it together. After repeated use and playing the components have had a hard time staying connected, especially the railroad track piece on the second floor that the ooze ball can roll down does not stay clipped in very well other than that great toy.

I feel the need to defend this toy because of all the negative reviews. My boys, 3 and 5 years, both LOVE this toy. The goo is such a fun feature and not the kind that's very messy- it kind of globs / stays together. Hours of entertainment so far! You have to buy the turtles and villains separately. I think it's a good value at the sale price.

What ever happened to solid toys that last? This toy was played with for less than 2 hours and it already broke. The plastic is so flimsy and this toy is not durable, it definitely will not last for months, or even years like the vintage toys do. Wish they would start making toys again like they used to.

My kids love it! I love it also! My set came with plastic everything. I’m guessing the first ones were coming with cardboard backgrounds? It’s sturdy enough. So many things to do. The slime is awesome. Would recommend to add to your ninja turtle set. It’s well worth the price if you get it for $45.

The sewer playset is really cool, but I felt the cardboard back was really flimsy and needed to be made out of some sort of plastic, flexy plastic or a solid peice, the stickers get wet with the ooze and they end up ruined, so a pre printed image would be better. (Spare parts really need to be easy to buy!!! ALSO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Start selling packs of the weapons that come with the figures!!! My son lost the little weapons so quickly, so replacements need to be available, plus to just buy spare sets to keep in the loft for when he's older and might one day want to sell them as collectors figures with a full set of weapons! Your missing out on cashing in one this because it's a massive topic on the internet)

Takes too long to put together and has way too many small pieces. It is very cheaply made and does not stay together during normal play. It lasted all of 6 days before the cardboard back drop came apart. We’ve had it 5 weeks and it is in absolute pieces all over the house. I wish I could return it.

The instructions are basically garbage- you’re left guessing at what goes where and how it connects. More importantly, if your kids play hard with toys like ours do, this will not stand up to daily play. The pieces don’t connect firmly enough so they fall apart easily and the things that should move or be interactive are too hard for kids to operate.

Bought this for my 7 year old son for Christmas he absolutely loved it! He’s a fan of TMNT so it was perfect. I wanted to leave a review because when I was purchasing I read some reviews stating that it wasn’t worth the buy and was mainly cardboard. I think the company took notes and made some changes as the back and side is no longer just cardboard but a solid plastic. Not sure how it would hold up with rougher kids but solid for my kids. So happy with our purchase and would recommend.

Beats expectations! Purchased this at the 50% off retail was worried about all the cardboard comments. However my version doesn’t have any cardboard. So perhaps half the reviews are invalid and they updated the play set? Yes you have to put it together and know how to snap pieces in place but it isn’t rocket science people…
