My skin is already dry and sensitive, and this made it even worse. It would sting when applied (which initially I just thought it meant it was working- dumb thought), and made my already dry skin irritated and uncomfortable. I gave it a shot for a few days until I realized that it was the one causing the probems.

This works if you don’t have to remove your makeup. It left my face so waxy feeling and my full face of makeup was still there had to really scrub my face and even then it wasn’t clean enough. Definitely not for makeup removal like it says

Moisturizing but does not remove concealer or foundation. If it’s not removing those then it’s probably not really cleaning the skin of all dirt. It did leave a lot of makeup residue behind. This product is probably best for people who are not wearing foundation or concealers.

the cleanser states it’s a gentle makeup remover, but it is not. the photo i attached is what came off of my skin after i cleansed my skin twice with the thayer’s hydrating wash. i feel if it can’t remove a thin layer of makeup, it’s most likely not that effective at cleansing my skin overall.

I have incredibly sensitive skin with dry patches. Aveeno’s Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser and Vanicream’s Gentle Facial Cleanser sting and strip my skin, respectively. CeraVe’s facial cleansers also sting my skin. Cetaphil’s cleansers are better, but even they make my skin feel tight. I was cleansing with Garnier’s micellar cleansing water until I found this Thayers Hydrating Milky Cleanser! It’s luxurious, soothing, and mild. It is moderately thick and creamy and does not strip the skin of its natural moisture barrier. If anything, its hydrating properties restore and strengthen it. I could probably forego my moisturizer for a night! If you’re using a retinoid, such as tretinoin or adapalene, or other drying and irritating ingredients, such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, do your skin a favor and give this moisture-protecting cleanser a pump! It glides across the skin and is so refreshing you could almost drink it (obviously, don’t do that). Washing my face is now a pleasure. I look forward to it.

Pretty disappointed, which is unfortunate because I wanted to love this product so much. But it doesn’t remove makeup at all. Made me question if this is an efficient face cleanser overall.

I had high hopes for this wash as I use the toner from this line and I LOVE it, but this wash just doesn't work for me. It does NOT remove my makeup and I don't even wear much - just tinted moisturizer and blush. I washed my face as directed, then used the toner and my cotton swabs were still full of my "makeup".
