With tables of correspondences and sections on scrying and astrological uses of stones, omens regarding certain stones, and how gemstones were seen historically around the globe, this is a fascinating work of impressive scope.

Learn about the history of gemstones and how they have been used:
- Within fortune-telling and for their magical properties
- For their astrological associations
- In rituals, as symbols and talismans

This beautiful treasury is presented with gilded page edges, patterned endpapers, ivory pages and a gold embossed cover design. It makes a wonderful companion for anyone wanting to take a closer look at some of the sparkling stories within the jewels you recognize and wear.

ABOUT THE SERIES: The Mystic Archives are beautiful hardcover guides which reveal the hidden mysteries of esoteric arts, presented with foil-embossing, Wibalin binding and gilded page edges.

About the Author

George Frederick Kunz (1856-1932) was a prominent American gemologist, responsible for many advances in the gem and mineral world including identifying a new color of spodumene that was named kunzite in his honor. He heavily influenced New York jeweler Charles Lewis Tiffany to produce his first semi-precious green tourmaline line of jewellery for his company, Tiffany & Co. From the age of 24, and for the remainder of his life, Kunz served as gemstone expert for the iconic New York jeweler. His classic work, The Curious Lore of Precious Stones, remains a must-read work for anyone interested in the beauty and mythology of precious gems.
