Severe burning and redness reaction

This lotion made my face breakout in horrible burning red splotches all over where I applied it. I thought at first maybe it was my tretinoin cream not interacting well with it, so I applied it again the next day to a completely clean face to give it a fair shot, but I had the same immediate reaction of severe burning and redness. I do have mild/severe eczema and sensitive skin, so I would be wary of picking this up if you are the same. I had high hopes since it was rated 100/100 on Yuka and a 1 on EWG.

This lotion has burned my baby’s skin. I put it on and thought it was his eczema that was hurting him. The next day I used it again and his skin got hives. Definitely do not use if your baby has sensitive skin. This does have citric acid… I thought it would be good since it has great reviews.. I’m hoping I can return it even if it’s used.

It was great for a some hours. Up until the end of the day, my face broke out! It contains several clog poring and allergen ingredients. I guess it depends on your own skin type. I have combination skin (oily/dry), and eczema prone and I do not recommend this product for people who fall under any of those categories.

Made my daughters face break out in red patches exactly where she put it on. We even washed her face and tried again and the same thing happened. It’s supposed to be hypoallergenic sensitive skin!!!!

This lotion is wonderful! It is light and smooth, not greeasy, and soothing. It does have a bit of a smell like other reviewers noted, however I think it might be the calendula-the smell reminds me of unrefined shea butter more than plastic, and i only noticed it if i held it directly under my nose. Once applied even to my face, i could not smell it on my body. As with anyone with sensitive skin it may or may not work for you, so give it a shot! Definately reccomend!

Chamomile is a common relative of ragweed, and many people who are allergic to ragweed (like my toddler and I) may react to this lotion that contains Chamomilla Recutita flower extract. It caused an itchy red rash, so not a great "sensitive" product for us.

I appreciate what the company stands for and their ideas behind their products. For me, in regards to this lotion, it just didn’t work for me. When I applied it, it smelled like wax - you know, when you touch a little candle and get some wax on your finger? - like that smell. It doesn’t last a long time - maybe an hour or two, but I just couldn’t get past that scent.

Love this lotion. I use it right now during my pregnancy. It’s moisturizing but not arduous to apply. It isn’t super thick so I use another moisturizer for ultra dry skin. But it is a good in between. It reminds me a lot of the standard cerave lotion.

I have sensitive skin and am unable to use most moisturizers. I tried Honest about a year ago, and have used ever since. Honest does not contain any perfumes, petroleum, etc., and absorbs quickly instead of staying on skin's surface. Plus for me, it's cruelty-free. Thank you for such a wonderful product.
