About the Book
Frankie Lane knows what's best for just about everyone but herself. Her divorced sister, Stef, who is too young to give up on love; her shy employee, Elinor; and her daughter, Natalie, who works in Frankie's shop, Holiday Happiness, and really needs to start her own business selling the delectable chocolates she makes at home; even her best friend, Viola, who is trying to renovate her old Victorian. Frankie knows she could help all of them, if they'd just let her--and if all of her help didn't end in utter disaster. Then there's Mitch Howard, the owner of the local hardware store. They've been friends ever since Frankie opened her store, nine years earlier. He got her through the nightmare when she lost her husband in a freak accident, and he's her favorite shoulder to cry on. He's been divorced for years, and it's such a waste of man! Mitch is the fittest, finest man Frankie knows. He's easygoing, wise and kindhearted. Mitch needs someone. And she's determined to help him find that someone--whether he likes it or not."--Book Synopsis

Ms. Roberts has written a wonderful story about helping others to have a Merry Christmas and a happily ever after. Frankie Lane loves helping others like her sister, Stef, not give up on love even after a messy divorce. Frankie owns Holiday Happiness. Her mother, Adele, works at the shop, and Natalie, her daughter, is married and loves working part-time. Then there is Eleanor, her new and shy employee. Sometimes, the best suggestions don’t turn out as planned, but other unexpected events occur. I really enjoyed this stress-free book 📕 and recommend it highly.

Whenever I read a Sheila Robert’s book I know I will be enjoying a great fun storyline, a happy ending and always bonus recipes in the back. The Merry Matchmaker was a delight and helped me get in the mood for all things Christmas. The characters were ones that I know I could have a good time being around and gain pleasure in their friendship. The small town of Carol had a close-knit community with shops lining both sides of the Main Street. Frankie owned Holiday Happiness that carried items for every holiday and season in the year. Christmas was their busiest season, especially with the Santa Walk that was Frankie’s “baby”. All shops joined in with sales and celebrations including a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Frankie’s main objective was to play matchmaker for her family and friends, sometimes to her own detriment. Will she succeed or have a big ole wrench thrown into her plans? Make a recipe or two from the back to nibble on while reading this entertaining holiday story. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author but was not required to write a review.
