It's fine for the price. It's not the most effective retinol I've ever tried. My biggest problem with this is that it turned bright yellow and stained my skin. I had to stop using because I looked jaundiced with it. Do yourself a favor and find a retinol in a better container, the few extra dollars will be well worth it.

Truly effective over-the-counter retinoid! I see an improvement without having to pay for prescription retinoids.

This product made my face break out. I looked up retinol and it could take months before it would stop. Not taking it anymore. Would not recommend to everyone.

I been using this Retinal emulsion for 3 weeks now and definitely noticed a defrence on my skin, it does sting a little the first few days but then no more stinging. It is gentle on the skin no peeling or irritation. My skin texture, pores radiance have improved. Thank you the ordinary for making this available to us. Please don't discontinue.

I've been looking for a product that has retinAL (not just retinOL). It is stronger and more effective against forehead wrinkles, but use with caution . Because of its strength, it can cause redness and dry flakiness.

After using the Cereve skin renewing retinol for years and results plateauing, I bought this product to take a small step up. I've used this for about 3 months now and my skin is in the best condition it's ever been! I started with once a week and now I'm up to using this most nights. When I have any acne/rosacea bump flare ups, this helps clear my skin so fast. I've definitely noticed a difference in texture and clarity. Plus it's so affordable! It definitely is bright yellow, doesn't smell great, and also doesn't spread super easily on the face but those are all things I'm willing to let go for the value.

This stuff is Easter-peep yellow, and it stains my bedding. I've used retinol products for years and thought I'd try retinal. My skin is not particularly sensitive, and it's in overall good shape. I spread a pea-sized amount over my whole face, neck, and décolletage, including eyelids and under eyes. I have not noticed any difference/improvement in skin elasticity, firmness, tone, or wrinkling with this product. I also have not experienced burning or peeling as some other reviewers have. The price is much more reasonable than the Murad I also tried last summer, and the products are similar. Overall, mostly because of the staining, I won't buy again. I'll just go back to my tried-and-true Lilyana Naturals retinol cream.

Love the feel of this on my face. Use every night. It's a must have, keep on hand product. Try it and you will love it.

Great results when used after red light therapy before bed

I usually use the emulsion retinoid and that is a PERFECT product. I wanted something stronger though and got this. It is MUCH stronger and like some other people I experienced some burning. I actually put it on my eye lids which is fine with the emulsion but this product absolutely decimated my eye lids lol they burned and I had to use moisturizing products and aquaphor for a while. I now use it after some thicker products, avoiding my eyelids. You just have to be careful and adjust when you put it on based on your sensitivity. I also noticed though that the product turns orange over time. I'd expect that with a vitamin c, but it's kind of strange with this product and it makes me worry if the product is unstable. My skin reacted fine otherwise but it is concerning.

i like this retinal a lot, its much lore affordable than the Murad one i used to buy and this one works just as well!

I've used other retinal serums, but this one actually makes my skin cells turn over. ie: my skin will peel and is irritated after using. Which is what it is supposed to do....I am trying to slowly build up the tolerance to it. It's something I can handle once a week, but not every night. I am hopeful to see the results over the next few months.

Lowkey didn't realize that this "retinal emulsion" can go bad after 3 weeks. It literally tanned my pale face after putting it on for 8 minutes. I may have purchased a bad batch
