About the Book
Which criteria are we sorting ourselves and each other by? Connecting Human Differentiation with Systems Theory, Anthropology, and Social Complexity.Book Synopsis
Human differentiation encompasses human classification and categorization processes that we encounter on a daily basis. Klaus Behnam Shad offers a new framework of human differentiation that emphasizes social complexity and intersectionality. Uniquely integrating systems theory with political, psychological, and biological anthropology, this systemic-anthropological approach firmly rejects culturalizing, moralizing, and ideologizing stances that claim a supposed superiority. This provides valuable insights into group-based differentiation processes that would otherwise remain inscrutable.About the Author
Klaus Behnam Shad (Dr. phil.) is a scholar in social and cultural anthropology who teaches and conducts research at University du Luxembourg. He studied at Universität zu Köln and earned his PhD in 2020 from the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin, with a dissertation examining the role of emotions in asylum processes. His research focuses on A.I. Society, political and psychological anthropology, social complexity, and intersectionality. Combining an interdisciplinary and empirically grounded approach, his work bridges the humanities, social sciences, and digital methodologies, offering nuanced insights into the interplay of technology, human behavior, and society. His aim is to foster innovative perspectives for research and practical applications, particularly in the context of emerging sociotechnical systems.Dimensions (Overall): 8.86 Inches (H) x 5.83 Inches (W)
