i bought this bar at my local bodega. upon taking a bite i noticed a moldy taste and chemical smell, it was awful, it thought maybe it was expired but checked it didnt expire till 2026, then i googled it and found many more similar comments. absolutely do not eat it!!

I love the Think! Keto friendly bars and have bought them for several years. When I saw that there were these high-protein options I bought two boxes (the peanut butter and the Lemon flavored ones). Both of them have an intense and unpleasant smell that resembles a cross between musty mildew and something chemical. Really, really offputting. I tried to force myself to eat them (as I bought two boxes worth), but gave up after just having a few. To the company/sales/product manufacturing team: you are **destroying** your brand. I would love to get my money back, but the store won't refund as the box is open, and they say the product is within the expiration date. I'd really appreciate someone, other than a bot or your social media manager, giving an honest and informative response about what's going on.

My husband and I used to eat these on hikes and sometimes at home for a snack. Lately, I haven't been able to go near them because they smell so terrible, but my husband wasn't smelling anything. I thought it was just me until I came here to the reviews today! I was shocked to see that so many people are complaining of this chemical smell that the company refuses to address. I'll definitely be steering away from these since it's clearly something the company would rather not even work to fix.

I spent days trying to figure out why my house smelled like mildew. Even thought it was my son after he got out of the shower. Nope - it was "food"....these exact protein bars to be exact. I have never smelled a food item that reeks to this extent. In fact, I googled "protein bar smells like mildew" without even naming a brand and this is the only bar that showed up with these complaints. It is crazy to me to see how old the complaints are - and they are still being sold in stores. Do better!

It's true. Something is very wrong. I put an half eat bar in my jacket pocket. The next day after putting my jacket on II hunted all of the house looking for the horrible chemical smell. Got to work and still smelled it ... so figured it out. I would describe the smell as a very pungent chemical smell, like a solvent. very unpleasant.

I bought this product yesterday and ate it this morning. At least, I tried to eat it, but the medicinal smell was so acrid and disgusting that I only had one bite. I put what was left in a small garbage can, and when I returned in the afternoon, the smell had permeated the whole area of the house. If there was an option to rate it less than one star, I would. I have never seen a product that was meant to be consumed that is as vile and disgusting as this.

I've been eating these for a few years now. Recently I have noticed what I feel like is a strong chemical odor and taste. I've read that the recipe was changed not long ago and maybe this is the reason for the odor. My wife can't stand to be in the same room when I open one of these and to her it smells like mold/mildew. Please fix whatever you guys changed!

I am not sure what is going on. I buy these in singles at my local grocery stores and on 4 separate occasions now there is a white dust, strong HORRIBLE smell (trash had to be taken out immediately) and the taste is almost toxic. I am worried because I did eat a little of one but these are not edible. I thought maybe it was a bad batch but they are not expired and I have had them from a few different stores.

So I also ate these bars religiously — and am just now looking into the ingredients. Mainly, I’m concerned about what I was ingesting for so long instead of healthy, whole foods. But whatever — the past is now past. I’m kind of grateful that the foul smell and taste of the new bar deterred me from purchasing, because it got me thinking…. I’m wondering now if the change they made in the new recipe is a result of learning about what potentially could’ve been a harmful ingredient in the original recipe??? What lead to this change, Think!? I did love the OG creamy peanut butter bar — far too much. Whatever was in there made us into addicts. I’m glad that the new recipe turned me off of the bar craze. Whole foods only now.

Bought a box of these recently and they smell atrocious, smelling very strongly of mold. No visible marking or discoloration so I tried eating one anyway - they don't taste quite as bad as they smell, but still very musty. I've since been very sick, can't say with any confidence that these bars did it but I'm not risking it further, the bars are in the trash and I won't be buying from this brand again. Real shame, these used to be pretty good but it seems to have become a common complaint.

As others have mentioned, this product has completely changed. I used to eat bars daily for YEARS and now have completely shifted to other brands as these have become inedible in the last year or so (and as others have mentioned, it’s not even a taste thing - something seems wrong, like mold).

I use to get this regularly and have continued to in hopes that this weird smell that is chemical or something else your brain tells you is instinctually wrong. Yet it’s still not fixed almost a year since I first noticed this issue. Now I have to open it and leave it for several minutes for the smell to dissipate. I question whether this is safe to eat now or not… so I’ve decided to go with another product and give up on Think Think.

I used to have these for lunch at work nearly every day, then they changed something - now the bars have a strong moldy/musty smell, basically inedible. My family complains about the smell from across the room it's so strong. Google online to see that this is a well known issue, yet there has been no attempt to correct the problem. Will not purchase again.

Once you get past the initial plastic flavor, the flavor gets SO much worse. This is the most chemical-like tasting protein bar I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Absolutely shocked that when you filter by “best sellers” on the Think! Website, the peanut butter is the second option. It must be a best seller because people are purchasing these bars and using them as petrol or some other fuel alternative, maybe even fire starter. I wouldn’t wish this flavor on my worst enemies. The brownie crunch is fire though.
