This Blood that Binds Us - (This Blood That Binds Us) by S L Cokeley

I bought this book a while ago off pure impulse while lethargically scrolling tik tok at 3am. I, like many other dopamine deprived individuals, have a hard time getting into a book because the first few chapters are so hard to fully get sucked into the story. If you’re like me this book is FOR YOU ;) , by chapter 1 you are immediately thrusted into the plot of the book no unnecessary extensive backgrounds! This book does have dual POV. I was a bit worried at first, that while reading the constant switch from character pov would disrupt the flow of the story but I can safely say this is not an issue here. I actually quite like it shockingly. It allows you to see the subtle differences of both the main characters personality that shines through during their narration. As to not fill this review with only praise, I will talk about a few things I notice while reading. This is a slow burn romance. Sometimes PAINFULLY slow. So if your the type that finds small advancements in the main romance in the story annoying or cheesy this might not be the book for you. I on the other hand am a fend for the cheese as most (mild) lactose intolerant people are (don't quote me on that). Over all I really liked this book and I hope target will start selling the second book in the series since books 3-4 are scheduled to be released later this year.
