Q: Why does product say "sulfate free" when sodium lauryl sulfate is listed as ingredient?
A: Thank you for reaching out to us about this. Because Tide is designed for everyday use, we go beyond regulatory compliance to ensure each ingredient in our products has been evaluated for safety. Giving you the great clean you can expect from Tide is important to us. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, also known as SLS, is an ingredient that provides a cleaning benefit on tough everyday soils like grease and grass stains. SLS is an ingredient that is certified to be Safer Choice by the EPA and has been tested to be gentle on sensitive skin. Additionally, Tide Zero continues to be free of added phosphates, dyes, or chlorine and meet EPA Safer Choice Product Standards.
