The candles definitely have a strong citronella smell to them, but the smell is not unpleasant. We used them in the backyard during a birthday party and didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes.

Anytime I light this it brings a whole new experience to my backyard providing adequate light. The ceramic container is bigger than most candles and is a standout feature of this one. This has three threads to lit and that too is quite different than what we see in others. The other added advantage is it also works as a mosquito repellent while being put to use. It works quite well as a replent which I mostly use when I am enjoying a causal reading in my backyard with some hot coffee.

They arrive in a pack of 2 so I am sure to have many nights enjoying these delightful candles. The 3 wicks ensure an even burn for many hours. They are also very easy to light. The ceramic is heavy and well made. I am not a fan of strong scents. I was pleasantly surprised that the citronella scent these candles give off is not at all offensive or overpowering. The sleek design looks fabulous on my outdoor dining table.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set of candles is the perfect complement for my outdoors. The bowls are a beige ceramic concrete that are 7 inches in diameter. The candle bowls look beautiful. The citronella candles have a strong scent unlit and when they are lit, the scent is pleasant and not overpowering. We put the candles evenly spaced on our rectangle table and I find that these effectively repel mosquitos.

My back yard is lit with a beautiful glow and the bugs are no longer invited to the party! The scent is strong and it's the one candle that really makes me feel comfortable sitting and enjoying the outdoors. I also love how elegant and durable the ceramic bowls are.
