Torchiere Floor Lamp with Glass Shade - Threshold™

Returned the first two I bought due to scratched shade and the switch broke off the second one. There is no quality control. The third one I am using feels like the switch won’t last long.

The glass was heavier than I thought. It was easily put together. Love it

Would give 0 starts if I could. I read all the reviews about a poor quality, hard to assemble, leaning lamp and figured I'd gamble. I should have believed the reviews. It is incredibly difficult to screw the lamp pieces together, so if you're are not a strong person, you can't assemble it. The black pipe pieces don't even sit flush when screwed tight, silver metal threads are exposed between the pipes. It also leans, and is impossible to adjust to stand straight. I didn't even put the glass shade on, as I was sure it would fall off and shatter. The plastic ring that holds on the heavy glass shade looks incredibly flimsy. My local store was fantastic at accepting the return. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and buy a lamp that doesn't need to be screwed together.

We have purchased 5 over the past couple years (different parts of the country), and contrary to some of these reviews, ALL 5 were great.......no issues at all. I happened to read these reviews before purchasing #5, and it certainly caused me to pause. Not sure why people are having trouble. Yes, you have to carefully ensure you align the threads when you are putting together, but mine were just fine. I love the amount of light it throws out.....more than most. (And, I don't work for Target.)

I actually bought 2 for my living room. My living room is very dark and the lamps give great lighting. I like the simplicity of the lamps. Very easy to assemble. Just remember glass is held by butterflies, where the light bulbs screw.

Seems to be a good basic lamp, and yes, glass is fragile, but this comes literally encased in styrofoam. Boo hiss.

Just as title says. Didn't light up more than two feet in any direction. Packages in such a way that I couldn't put it back in the box to return. Writing so someone might avoid buying.

Solid, quality lamp, expect it to last many years. Put it together by myself without looking at the instructions in under 5 minutes. takes 2 bulbs which I purchased separately.

Ok so this one is 10000x better than the one from room essentials. It’s like actually worth the money, and it really feels like a solid product.

I like the dimmer capability of this. It gives off a lot of light as well.

The glass shade doesnt screw on. It just sits on the top. I have now purchased and broken two lamp shades. Glass shattered everywhere. When you go to move it you don't remember oh this isn't screwed on. Really poor design there. I need a tall lamp but will have to get a better one somewhere else.

Works great if you're actually using dimming bulbs. Easy assembly and sturdy. I got this on sale for about $40 and it was well worth it over the cheap $20 lamps. If you're adjusting the glass, make sure you adjust it before tightening down the screws on the plastic ring. I loosened them a bit and cracked the plastic ring wiggling it. I had to use the metal one from my old lamp which fortunately fit perfectly.

the shade has marks on it that cannot be removed. Also, although the specs say the light bulb capability is 150w each, the bulbs included are 60w equivalent. So buy the lamp on sale without bulbs, and buy the higher watt equiv separately. Also for us extremely ocd people, the bulbs are at different levels (don't try to adjust, they're very fragile) so some placement fixes will be required.

It's perfect, lots of light, well made and doesn't take a lot of room

I have this dimmable light from years ago and wanted to purchase another because I love it so much. I found this and confirmed it was dimmable in the specifications. Then I decided rather than buying bulbs for it I would just select the option that comes with bulbs. What I did not realize is that option is not a dimmable light. It's very deceiving that switching that option switches whether you purchase a dimmable light or not. That said, the lights (both dimmable and not) are very nice and easy to assemble. I'm returning the non-dimmable one and just ordered a dimmable one and ended up saving money since it is now on sale.

My bad... assumed this lamp was identical to the one I already have... but this one has no dimmer and the knob for turning on/off the lamp sounds like metal on metal... very hard to turn. Not taking it apart to return, so will just deal with it. Also, two bulbs it's shipped with are VERY bright... had to take one out... but if you needed a lot of light in a room, this one would be great!

The website clearly states to "Use Only Non-Dimmable Bulbs", however, stickers on the product itself clearly state that dimmable bulbs *must* be used. Looks good otherwise.

Terrific lamp! Really brightens up my dark living room. The package says rubbed bronze, but it definitely looks black. I put two dimmable LED lights in it and everything works well.

This Torchiere Floor Lamp with Glass Shade by Threshold is exactly what I was looking for. Pros: It has a nice clean contemporary look with the silver finish. The glass shade is thick and high quality. It has the perfect torchiere (pronounced tawr-cheer) look. It's 71" in height and beautifully shines up at my cathedral ceiling. I had some confusion about which light bulbs to use. You can see highlighted in pink in the picture of the instructions the correct bulb information. It states "Maximum wattage: Two 150W incandescent bulbs OR 16W LED bulbs. Use dimmable bulbs only. DO NOT use 3-way bulbs or halogen bulbs." We purchased generic LED 13W light bulbs (100W incandescent replacement). They are working perfectly. Plenty of bright light and the dimmable function works well. The on/off switch is the dimmable function. You just have to turn it to the right for most light and to the left for less light. Cons: The dimmable function is probably the only con for the lamp. The difference in brightness is subtle. But I'm okay with that since I purchased the lamp for bright light and it works great!
