Very heavy so it does not tip over. The dimmer switch for the top lamp allows you to set just the right brightness. The pole scews together so well you cannot see the connection points easily. Just make sure you screw in each part straight and completely and don't move on to the next part until you are sure each piece is completely screwed in correctly.

Thought the lamp was defective at first because it flickered a lot with the first lightbulbs we tried (yes they are labeled dimmable, cannot provide the brand due to review policy). Switched to another brand of dimmable lightbulbs and it works fine now. The pole does not want to stand super straight, I have had the lamp for a few months now and it has started to tilt slightly which is annoying but not super noticeable unless you really look.

Nice lamp. The top used to flicker until I realized it is for dimmable lights only. The bottom one is not. My biggest takeaway and suggestion to Target is to sell replacement shades as the glass ones are extremely fragile. I’m on my second lamp because while I do enjoy it, the “aesthetic” is compromised when the shades aren’t on. Otherwise decent lamp. It’s lasted me a few years now but wouldn’t spend $70 on it again just because of the shades, but also wouldn’t return it.

Excellent quality materials, heavy base to help prevent tipping, solid switches. Love the dimmable feature for the 2 bulbs in the upper large frosted torchiere. We bought a second one we liked it so much and would definitely recommend this lamp.

This lamp is very strong and sturdy. I love the reading lamp!!! The dimmer is on of the greatest things about this!!!

Love this type of floor reading lamp. Purchased three for our family room. All three broke within months of the other and all within the warranty. The light switches stop working so you can not dim it.

Bought this lamp in store and noticed right away that when I took it out of the box that the hole for the reading lamp shade was not centered. So it hangs off a bit to the side of the lamp. It also makes a loud buzzing/humming sound when it’s not at full brightness. Should have read the reviews before purchasing, but It’s a shame that I have to return it because I do really like the look/design of the lamp.

Would give this a 1 but it held up (somewhat) for 2 years. When we first bought it, glass shade was broken. Returned for a new one but that one flickers CONSTANTLY. Has been flickering for 2 years, you could turn it to the EXACT right angle and it would stop. It was like there was a strobe light in my periphery constantly. Now it has decided to finally die, the top lights won't even turn on anymore. Very disappointed and will not return to Target for any lighting needs

Good packaging, easy build. Secondary light works fine but the main light's on/off (dimming) switch buzzes and flickers until the light reaches the max brightness.

I like the appearance of the lamp but wish it was plastic. My son tipped the lamp over on carpet. The glass immediately shattered and pierced my foot. I needed stitches. I would rather get a plastic one but none of them have this style. So I’m just a little disappointed. It is almost impossible to get the replacement parts as well.

Arrived shattered. Not packed properly for shipping. The lamp box says to keep upright but it was shipped on its side in the Target box.

The material of this lamp is sturdy. I like it beginnig at when I was opening the package. I had two non-dimmable LED to be installed: one has higher quality circuit and the other one has lower quality circuit. The better circuit one worked very well at all adjust range on the top slot of this lamp although the manual suggests using dimmable LED. However, two quality issues I have observed: 1. The thread of the bottom post supposed to be removed to fit the plane lamp base. But it did not. The lamp was observed tilting after being assembled. 2. The glass process is questionable. It is so easy to be cracked. I mistakenly drop[ed the upper shade to the walnut wooden floor, which is comparable soft to the other floor, from one inch height. It cracked. It is also difficult to find a replacement on the market. It is so hard to find a lamp with this decent material in this price range in the US. It could be the one if the manufacturing quality issue could be solved.

Problem with light uts always flashing

The lamp stand is sturdy. I’d prefer if the reading light was goosenecked for better positioning. The dimmable bulbs eventually flicker when they’re at a dimmed level; seem fine when they’re on full brightness.

Perfect chair or sofa side lamp. The knob for turning on either lights is just the right height when sitting down.

I've bought and used these Threshold mother-daughter lamps for a few years now. My first one was bought in 2019 and, over the years, I've acquired 3 in total. The first two older ones are still going strong, but the newest one that I bought 10 months ago - in Jan, 2022 - suffers from the same issues other reviewers have posted. I do use dimmable bulbs in the lamps. The newest model has a noticeable buzzing noise when the dimmer is used below full power. Also, I had an incident where the top lamp wouldn't turn on. I tried multiple times turning it off and back on, nothing. I waited an hour and tried again and it finally worked again but now I don't trust it not to recur.
