Read the dimensions! This is like a little toy for American Girl dolls, the actual playing board is SEVEN INCHES LONG. It's honestly comical how tiny it is. The wood is decent quality but I couldn't even give this as a gift to the person I bough it for because it's hilariously small. The biggest chess pieces are like 1inch tall, the small pieces are too hard for older folks to even pick up. So disappointed
