Chinese Checkers came from the game of Halma (Greek for jump), a game invented in America around 1884 by a Harvard Medical School thoracic surgeon named Dr. George Howard Monks. This beautiful Chinese Checkers set is solid Malaysian Oak wood with a round board that measures approximately 12 inches in diameter. Comes with brightly painted wood pegs in six different colors. This board is quite substantial and heavy in weight since it is solid wood. It makes a beautiful addition to any coffee table or game room. This game makes a great housewarming gift and is a must-have for a vacation home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great family game. The board is nice and so are the pieces. The pieces are pegs that fit into the holes on the board. They are easy to put in and to move around. The colors are nice. The game itself is fun and easy to play. It's great for my 6 year old. I like that it came with a little bag to hold to pieces and the instructions. Definitely happy with it overall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The WE Games Chinese Checkers with wooden pegs is a YES! I have a couple sets in my home already. A large plastic one from the 1970's as well as one that is pressboard and chips. This WE Games set is superior by far. The solid wood game board will last. It's pretty enough wood that you could sub it in for your next charcuterie board in a pinch! The wooden pegs are perfect. Easy to handle for both little fingers and adults alike. Even with my too-long fingernails, I have no problem moving the pegs around the board as I jump opponents pegs. I'd never be able to do that with marbles and have difficulty with the plastic pegs of my 70's set. This set even includes a little cinch sack for the pegs to be stored in. My family has already enjoyed many rounds of fun. My teenagers actually look forward to the next rainy weekend so they can challenge mom for redemption. This is gift worthy or great for a home set. My only suggested to WE Games is to kick up the quality of the box - this set is great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To tell the truth, I forgot all about chinese checkers. I played this game with my 10-year-old grandson, he had never played it before. We had a blast. What is different with this game is it is made of wood and has pegs not marbles like the one I grew up with. I remember playing this when my children were younger and someone would bump the board and all your marbles would roll all over the place. You would have to start all over. I would recommend this Chinese Checkers game to anyone who has kids over 8 or grandkids.
