Description
The Tripp Lite® by Eaton® APS750 750-Watt PowerVerter® APS 12-Volt DC/120-Volt AC Inverter Charger is a reliable power source for a wide variety of equipment ranging from power tools and pumps to portable lighting and computer equipment in heavy-load conditions. With no fumes, fuel, or excess noise, it’s an excellent alternative to generator power. The DC to AC inverter features an automatic line-to-battery transfer switch and integrated charging system that allow it to work as a vehicle inverter, standalone AC power source, or extended-run UPS. An automatic overload detector, cooling fan, and resettable AC circuit breakers protect the unit from damage. Designed for easy installation in RVs, over-the-road trucks, fleet vehicles, and emergency vehicles, the APS750 converts stored power from any 12-volt battery or automotive DC source to safe, stable, computer-grade AC power for unlimited run time. When hardwired to an external 120-volt AC source, the unit keeps the user-supplied battery charged via a 3-stage 20-amp charging system while simultaneously delivering AC power to connected equipment. When used as a UPS, the APS750 responds to blackouts and brownouts with an automatic, instantaneous transfer to battery-derived AC output. LEDs on the unit indicate AC/DC operational modes, overload status, DC voltage level, shutdown status, and system fault status. Built-in mounting feet help installation on any rigid, horizontal surface. Note - please position a 125-amp fuse link less than 18 in. from the battery in the positive line to protect against high-current draw that may occur during inverter failure._

The automatic backup device works very well. I can now back up my boiler controls and pumps to keep my home warm during power outages. My only wish that I did not see was a Lithium FE PO4 battery option included in the battery types. I did note that the charger state did provide 14.5 for a short period then steped down to 13.4 on a standard deep cycle battery. The Lithium needs 14.4 and is self regulating. If I buy a 200 Ah lithium battery, I will just use a seperate charger for it.
Good product so far

APS750 Uninterrupted Power Supply for Keystoker Coal Stove

I purchased the Tripp Lite APS750 to provide an uninterrupted power supply for my Keystoker coal stove. The Keystoker is a direct vent and has a combustion fan and an exhaust fan that run constantly as well as the blower fan which pushes heated air into the hot air duct work of my 1800 square foot house. We live in Northwestern Pennsylvania and the winter temperatures can drop into the teens. Fortunately, our electrical service is very stable and reliable; however, there are times when the power will go out for minutes or hours, especially during high winds or ice storms. Without a battery backup, the anthracite coal fire will go out in a matter of minutes. Once the power is restored, the coal fire must be started again, which is a real pain should the event happen in the middle of the night. Of course if the fire is not started, the stoker will happily continue to push unburned coal into the ash bucket. I built a small narrow cart out of 2X4s and 1X12 Hemlock I had laying around. Casters added on the bottom facilitate moving the unit into place. I used 0/2 gauge copper wire with a 150 amp ANL fuse on the positive supply side to connect the deep cell battery. An 8 gauge copper wire as the only wire into a three prong plug provides the APS750 ground using the house electric service ground. Since the APS750 has been in place, I've lost electricity once for about 5 minutes. In the past, that would have been enough time for the anthracite fire to go out without the combustion fan providing air. However, the APS750 kicks in so fast, it's undetectable. The price of the APS750 is worth the peace of mind to keep my Keystoker coal stove operating.

Attempted to use Inverter as a backup power source for my pellet stove. However the modified sine wave caused excessive noise with the fans. As a result, I returned the Tripp Lite inverter and purchased a pure sine wave inverter, which corrected the problem with fan noise.

Your engineers never thought of using ordinary screws to connect DC connectors or providing the necessary tool. Otherwise, the device becomes unusable.

I bought the APS750 to trickle charge & control my 2 deep cycle 12v batteries. Should our power go off, it will automatically provide nearly 2 days of power to our pellet stove which provides back-up heat.

Bought this and 75ah battery for back up of a 1/3 hp sump pump. Owners manual well written and explained the unit well Tested after a major downpour, unplugged from wall and it switched to battery immediately. All good. The two outlets are close to side of unit, so float switch/power cord didn't fit. Adapter fixed that issue.

Using as a battery back up for 1/3 hp sump pump. 75ah battery w/4 gauge wire to inverter. Hook up and product were explained in detail in owners manual. Have tested operation by removing power cord and unit worked perfectly. Very happy with APS750.

Fantastic product. I use this inverter-charger to power my sump-pump and sump alarm. Instead of buying a cheap plastic 12V backup sump-pump, I can rest assured that my main sump pump will operate at full capacity during storms and outages. The color-coded LED indicators are easy to read from a distance, perfect for peering in the crawlspace to see the status of this device. It accurately delivers 750W (more, actually). But be careful! Inductive loads will need a surge of power to get started! My pump operates at 600W, and the startup-current doesn't trip the overload protection. My only gripe with this device is the limited space around the load receptacle. I had to remove the plastic shielding around it to fit the plug for the sump-pump's float switch.

I live on a Caribbean island with a power grid known for poor stability and frequent outages. The Tripp-Lite unit powers my office during the day and occasionally the home entertainment system in the evenings. I previously used consumer grade units but they failed to protect from brownouts and their limited battery capacity left me offline or running for the generator in the middle of a video conference during longer outages. They also had slow ATS' that routinely threw routers offline when switching from line to inverter. The Tripp-Lite unit sits next to me in my office and the only indication of an outage is the fan kicking on as charging begins when line power is restored. Judging by both weight and build of the chassis this unit is industrial grade.

have this hooked up to a battery for emergency power to our sump pump in the basement when the power shuts down. The power has not gone out as of yet, so time will tell, just hope the battery is big enough to last until power comes back on.
I Would recommend this inverter to anyone who owns a RV 7:1!

I found this easy to install, it charges my RV batteries as expected and over all works like i need it to. The one thing that i dont like is if i run my RV batteries totally dead, then it will not charge them until i put another charger on the circuit and excite the unit. For the price it is also pretty low in wattage compared to other inverters. The internal fan consumes a big part of the batteries over all charge. But im happy with it mostly.
I would buy this unit again for sure

Using this for a battery back up for my pellet stove. We have solar but not enough to keep the entire house going for extended night outage,so this is the stove manufacturer's recommendation as a good source of power, and why would they lie about that. Of course it's too hot to run the stove, and now that we are set power wise, the power will never go out again ;)

Great product. Meets my needs to supply power to my headend service rack. Now I do not have to worry about power going out and switch to a backup power source. My battery bank backup source is always there for whenever I need.
I have told many people about this product. I'm impressed.

This inverter is an absolute saviour. I live in northern Ontario Canada. It gets ccccold up here. Now with this product my house will stay heated using my pellet stove and propane fireplace even when the main power goes out. Last year it went out 4 or 5 times and sometimes for hours while it was -30C and windy...and I'm not home. This is huge piece of mind knowing that the heat will stay on even while I am not home. I have tested it and it works just as I had hoped. It is instantaneous auto-transfer. Amazing! On one deep cycle battery it will keep powering both devices for hours (I tested it for 3 hours and still had 80% charge). If I want I can add another battery for longer time. Thank you TRIPPLITE for such a great product.
