Getting to eat real food in unusual places without adding heat to the space is a winner. It doesnt over heat or burn the surface its sitting on (well I havent experienced it) but it just stays on as long as its plugged in. It definitely heats up some food and it taste 10 times better than the microwave. Its not going to give you oven quality reheats but it comes pretty dang close

I was looking for a microwave on the go and thought this may be a solution for me. It's a smart Idea. Because it keeps food warm for a long time, it works for me. Additionally, the food tastes considerably better than when it is microwaved. All of the food is cooked at the same temperature because it is all effectively in the same oven (sealed dish). The food is cooked at a high temperature for a while and if you switch it of, it keeps the food warm. Since there is just one heating element and one dish, it has no means of knowing which foods should be cooked for shorter periods of time and which should be cooked for longer periods of time. The ultimate result is as the maker promisesthe food won't ever be overcookedbut that relies on how you define overcook. Food rarely ever dries out (sweet potatoes will if you leave them in there for 10 hours by themselves.) However, because of the moisture in the enclosed lunchbox, the vegetables might grow soggy and the meats will become increasingly tender. Therefore, meat and fish can truly stay inside for ten hours and still be OK. We bought two of these lunchboxes, and I plug them in for 1 hour every day. The fish and meat are ready to use, and I may eat from them whenever I want. However, as the day goes on, they get softer and more likely to fall apart. The veggies require additional care and should only be kept in there for a maximum of 2-3 hours before being refreshed for the following meal. Otherwise, they will wilt and become mushy.Evidently, the bottom surface to surface contact is how the food cooks. Food that doesn't actually touch the bottom will still cook, but it will take a bit longer. All of the meat is precooked, so if I add a second layer, it will still be correctly heated, it will just take longer and be less hot than the bottom layer. If I add a second layer of raw vegetables, only the bottom layer will actually "cook," therefore cooking the upper layer takes longer.Its a quick and good looking device and can highly recommend it.

Pros: Now got it and used it a couple of times but it heated refrigerated soup to an edible temperature in around 20 minutes. The lunchbox appeared durable and definitely easy to clean. It's neat and looks well anywhere it's placed. Cons: im a big guy and could be a bit biggerI read that you can pack it all the way up but have not tried it yet.

I was skeptical about the UVI light first, but it has pleasantly surprised me and works well..I have been also disinfecting cutlery and other stuff in there. The heat source is powerful and heats up my food fast. I love that I can take the lunchbox with me anywhere and have a hot, delicious meal whenever I want. That being said, I do have a few criticisms. One issue I've noticed is that with some foods like rice and beans, it works better when you mix it half way throughit seems to heat up more even that way. This can be a bit of a hassle if you're not able to do it or forget. I use it every day and noticed it only with some foods, especially when its really packed.. Its still hot though. I also wish that the lunchbox would come in more colors. Im a guy and something more neutral would be cool. Despite these issues, I still really appreciate the convenience and ease of use of the lunchbox. It's definitely improved my lunchtime experience.

Bigger than it looks like because of tight seal it heats the whole chamber, so you can fill it up and gets really hot insidefood comes out great

I love the convenience of the UVI lunchbox. I can pack my lunch in the morning and then heat it up at work in just minutes. The UV light is an added bonus and really does take care of the smells which was a positive surprise as I thought it was a gimmick. However, I have noticed that the food can become cold quickly after being removed from the lunchbox. I usually try to eat my lunch within a few minutes of heating it up to ensure that it stays warm or eat it straight out of the box. Another thing I've noticed is that the auto shut-off feature takes time an overcooked my chicken once and got dried up a little..

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I chose to go with this brand because a friend of mine is using it and a "feeling" this may be a better choice than the cheaper brands and perhaps not cause a fire when it's out of sight. Basically it does what it says so I won't waste time going into everything already covered elsewhere.

One thing I've noticed is that the food can become soggy if I leave it in the lunchbox for too long. This is especially true for vegetables, which tend to get wilted and lose their texture. After contacting customer service I found out that this was a user error, as I should have kept the little lid open and also probably cooked it for too long. This think makes your food really hot and its important to check from time to time not to over or undercook your meals. The other positive is that it seems mall, but holds a good amount of food, and because its sealed, its cooks everything, so you can really stuff it.I recommend it..its really useful and cute.
