Vacation Chardonnay Oil Sunscreen - SPF 30 - 3.4 fl oz

I have used and love the vacation classic lotion sunscreen. Since I've been into body oils lately I wanted to give this product a shot. While I don't hate it, I don't love it either. It seems to work. I haven't gotten sunburned on the days I have used it. I can't tell if I like the smell of this or not. That may be weird to say, but it has a very mild almost undetectable scent. So I can't tell if I smell this product or the body lotion or perfume I use. It seems to have an oily but vanilla like scent (my lotion/perfume smells like vanilla, hence my confusion on the smell). It's not great, not like the classic lotion which smells like banana and smells great. My other gripe is the bottle. Yes, it's an oil so I suppose some messy application is to be expected. But it is messy to apply and make sure the bottle stays upright because it can leak. It did a bit when I threw it into a bag to take with me. So overall, it's not bad, but I wouldn't buy it again.

I brought this along with me to my Punta Cana Vacation. I love using this on my legs and arms. I was able to get a nice tan without any burns. The smell is nice and it doesn't make you feel greasy!

When snorkeling in Hawaii our guide told us that this was not reef safe. They used Banana Boat Mineral sunscreen.

Subtle fragrance, but just enough to entice the senses. It's great to get that 'glass skin' (but a little goes a long way!). Definitely keeping this around!

Allow me to deinfluence you: I don’t think this product is worth the hype. I bought a small bottle thankfully and hate the way it feels. It smells decent but I definitely wouldn’t reach for it on a beach vacation versus other sun products.

Group of me and three friends all used this at the beach in San Diego on a UV index 10 day and all burned horribly. We applied liberally and reapplied an hour later. This did not work well for any of us. Even for folks who don’t typically burn. Really expensive price to pay for a sunburn!! It did smell really nice and went on beautifully. Maybe better for someone in an area with lower UV.

It leaks terribly. Through bags. Not practical at all!

This SPF is extremely messy! I loved the idea, smell, and feel of it on my legs by the pool, but the packaging needs a lot of work. The oil got everywhere. I was extremely careful when I applied it, and I packed it in double ziplock bags. It leaked out of the bottle, so the ziplock was partially full of oil. I also had to be careful where I sat the bottle down because it would leave an oil ring on every surface. I unfortunately ended up throwing the product away. I would buy again if they changed the packaging, but it wasn’t worth the fuss—especially while traveling.

The product was fine, went on smoothly but the bottle leaks when traveling. Definitely a problem if you plan to stash in a beach bag or suitcase.

In my teens I was a sun addict. Didn’t care if I burned, I just wanted to “have color.” I would use tanning beds daily and didn’t think about the future. For the last several years, I’ve made a conscious effort to avoid prolonged sun exposure. I typically apply spf 50 when at the beach. This product is a great option for days when I may be active outside (tennis, playing with kids, etc.) for about an hour or so. It provides an adequate level of protection at spf 30 while giving skin a glowing boost. Certainly much better than the usual spf 4 tanning oils (or baby oil) of my past. It’s a bit pricey but again I think it’s a “safer” alternative to your typical tanning oil so I’m willing to pay a bit more for the higher spf.
