It takes 2-3 smoothie cycles for it to properly blend. Also the container moves off center on the base a lot while blending.

Hi there! Vitamix containers are not designed to lock into place. Therefore, it is completely normal for the container shift slightly while on the base. When you turn the unit on, you will notice that the container may shift slightly to the right or the left. This is intended, as the motor base is aligning with the container for optimal performance. If you feel more comfortable, you may place your hand on top of the lid while you blend to better secure the container. However, do not press down on the container in an attempt to “lock” it in place, as doing so could cause damage the motor. Also know that the programs are a suggested time, typically for a single serve smoothie, you may have to blend longer when making a large batch like in this photo. Using you tamper while blending will also speed up the process. Please call us at 1-800-848-2649 and we would be happy to troubleshoot the machine and provide more blending tips.

At this time, we have not found a suitable glass container design to meet the strict safety and performance requirements we place on our products. With that being said, we continue to research this design and encourage you to stay tuned for updates on new products. Vitamix uses the best materials to produce a high-quality blender that safely performs according to customer expectations. We use only BPA-Free materials including Eastman Tritan for our blending containers. Vitamix uses only FDA-approved materials for any surface coming in contact with food. We have also released a Stainless Steel container that is compatible for use with all full-size Vitamix blenders! I got my vitamix for an early Xmas present. I have used it every day since I received it. I m very impressed with the auto features and the self cleaning mode. It’s super easy to use. FYI, the power switch is underneath in the back in the right side… lol. Took me a minute if you’ve been considering it.. go for it. One word of warning, it’s louder than I expected but it not a deal breaker for me.

I was a little disappointed with the new Vitamix. I loved my previous one that lasted 10 years. The new one slides all over the counter while using it and struggles with frozen fruit.

Hello, we are sorry to hear of your experience with this product. It is important to remember that all full-size Vitamix blenders are equipped with either a 2 or 2.2 horsepower motor, which moves the blades in the container at a high speed in order to pulverize the ingredients completely. On occasion during blending, especially with thicker mixtures like hummus, frozen desserts and nut butters, you may experience some excess movement/vibration from the motor base on your countertop. This is a result of the machine trying to move the blades through such a dense recipe at the same high speeds. When this happens, the best thing to do is to first make sure you have your blender on the highest speed setting featured on that unit. Next, place your hand firmly on the lid of your container to steady it while you use your tamper to work the ingredients through the blades. This will help to create an easier flow of the ingredients in the container, which will also help to lessen the vibration. Please keep in mind that certain ingredients and recipes are thick or denser in nature, and some movement while blending is normal.

Love this Blender for smoothies and making applesauce. It even blends the skins of the apples so fine you can’t even tell they were blended…a great health benefit. Did about 25 quarts of creamy smooth applesauce. It’s delicious. No other blender I’ve had blends like this one does. It’s amazing.

It's known for its consistency and smooth texture with smoothies, and it does not disappoint, however, I have enjoyed trying out all the other things you can do with a Vitamix. In a short time, I've made multiple delicious soups, frozen treats and use it about 5 days/week. The craftsmanship seems top notch, its backed by an unbeatable warranty, and I also like the look of the newest line of machines (mine is an X2 which combines the modern look with the tactile feel of real switches). 10/10 for me and looking forward to using it for years to come.

It’s not overly noisy as it’s quick to get the ice & it’s easy to take apart to clean. Buttons are simple and easy to use.

My first thoughts were how incredibly convenient the self clean feature was - one reason I haven't been eager to replace my blender when it broke years ago was remembering how often I would use, set it aside, and forget to clean it until it became harder to clean. The self clean feature let me just give the blender a quick rinse, add warm water and soap, and let it clean while I finished up my food prep. I tested the blender with some basic smoothies. It was generally much louder than I expected it to be, but my partner didn't thing it was bad and didn't mind the noise level. After playing around a little to determine the right frozen fruit-milk ratio, we did end up with delicious, creamy, and smooth drinks! There were no hidden ce chunks or strange textures. I am looking forward to using this blender for years to come!

When I first received it I was so excited to have the blender from Hell's Kitchen, but when I used it I was pretty disappointed. First I wanna talk about what I love. I love the tool that allows you to push into the blades and the fact that it has a holder that goes on the side of the blender. That being said, it underperforms. Despite using multiple recipes with various ratios, my drinks never come out smooth, they're always separated. I'm have another blender that is 1/3 of the price and it works incredibly. So, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who wants to make frozen drinks, but if you're making thinner drinks or what not, it would work.
