Vitamix Stainless Steel 48oz Container: BPA-Free Dishwasher-Safe Blender Accessory, Silver, 2-Piece Set

We like the idea of a metal container. Our previous plastic container served us well, but became stained after 20 years of use and the blades started to squeal. (Our Vitamix is over 20 years old.) The CSR at Vitamix suggested the stainless steel container would work well with our older base and we've been pleased with our choice. Pay attention when cleaning with hot water. Metal transmits heat better than plastic.

Love, love, love this container! I splurged because we’re trying to reduce the amount of plastic we use in our house. It’s actually been the only one I use for everything! It’s expensive, which stinks, BUT it is worth it if you can swing it. Highly recommend!

A long time vitamin user, purchased this after plastic pitcher began to build up a film you couldn’t clean. Stainless steel should last forever. Great product but a bit too expensive, thus giving 4 stars.

I very much like Vitamix's stainless steel mixing container, which I purchased as a replacement for the original 64oz tall plastic container after 6 years of use (the blade bearing assembly failed on that container). It fit on my original base perfectly. It is quite hefty and feels very sturdy. The etched markings on the inside are easy to view and seem durable (I have used my container 4-5 times per week for several months now). The clear lid allows me to keep an eye on the blending process. It's not as easy to remove as the black rubber lid on the original plastic tall container but it's reasonably easy to remove - I lever up each wing one at a time. I very much like that my ingredients are not in contact with plastic in this container; that's probably my favorite feature of this container. It cleans up very easily - the blades and bottom of the container are actually easier to reach with a short scrub brush than in the original container. Although it is slightly lower in total volume than the original container (48oz as opposed to 64oz) I have found it is large enough for a family of two. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and definitely recommend it!

I love that the is a stainless option. However, I do not like the esthetics of the container. It is not like a stainless steel mixing bowl, instead it has rougher edges. I don’t know if it is lower quality or a lower quality design. The plunger for it is beyond cheap…lightweight hollow plastic.

Overpriced container, give an option to buy just the base so I can add my own containers.

I am ditching plastics that contribute to health and environmental problems.

I wish I would have started with this container. No worries about cracking the container when grating Parmesan cheese.

Well made, far superior to the plastic offering. Ridiculously easy to clean, should last forever. 4 stars instead of 5 b/c price point is too steep and it isnt offered in lieu of the plastic version for an upcharge when purchasing a Vitamix.

We ordered the stainless steel container because the original plastic container has toxic substances. Although the stainless steel container has much better materials, it does not do a good job blending. The container is much smaller than the original plastic one, and because of that it does not do as good of a job blending. PLEASE MAKE A 64 OZ. STAINLESS STEEL CONTAINER!

Could be larger. I don't know why the plastic containers get so gross looking, but stainless seemed to be a good solution. However, this needs to be made available in a larger size too.

I ordered this because I am trying to cut back on plastics in my food, but I was surprised by how much I appreciate the low profile of this design. It's a winner for sure!

Nice pitcher, well made and a good size... everything i would expect from a vitamix

The stainless steel model is sturdy and functions like the plastic models. However, I miss being able to fully see the contents as they are mixing. Peering through the cap gives only a small view, so it inhibits control of mixing. It cleans nicely and I'm happy to know I'm not leaching plastic into my food. My old container was almost 20 years old.

It's great. So much easier to clean, doesn't keep the smell of what I blend. Despite the price, I am very happy that I made the right choice getting this replacement.

Wonderful. Have had a few months now..Had been on my list for some time now and very glad I made the purchase. Very versatile and do not have to ever worry about discoloration as I would with other pitchers. A great size for my needs in 48 oz and find myself always using this now. Rarely pull out the 64 oz anymore unless a very specific batch or need..

The loudness isn't a bother since this container is perfect for me! I needed a smaller container because I found the 64-oz containers didn't always blend everything consistently. This one seems to blend everything smoothly and quickly! Heat does transfer through the metal easily, so I wish it had a double-wall like a travel tumbler, but that's a minor quibble considering how well it blends small amounts.

Wish I had bought it sooner - now I can have smoothies without microplastics. It’s just as powerful as the original plastic jar and the measurement markings on the inside are very easy to see. I thought it would be hard not seeing the items as they blend, but it’s really not a big deal. One surprise is that it’s much easier to scrape the food out of the bottom of the jar compared to the original plastic one. I just wish Vitamix would make a smaller size stainless steel jar for when I just want to blend a small amount as a replacement for the bullet or something similar.

Stainless steel gives off a beautiful appearance and when you blend in it, you know that you are not blending any plastic into your spreads and smoothies.
