Q: Can I hook up to a dvd player as well as tv?
A: The bar would be connected to the tv and anything connected to the tv such as a dvd player would then automatically have its audio go through the bar.

Q: I'm not going to have a spare HDMI connection to use this. Is Dolby Atmos supported with the optical cable or over Bluetooth. I was reading that Bluetooth 5.2 supports Atmos.

Q: Can this be plugged into HDMI via cable on Fire TV?

Q: Is a smartphone required to set this up with a modern Vizio TV?
A: No you can use a computer or another device but you do need a web browser to complete setup in order to use apps.
