This product, in theory, contains elements that are age appropriate and educational, however like so many other romantic ideas, the reality did not live up to expectations. I would have to agree with other reviewers that the touch pad, while easy to push for toddler hands, is too sensitive for their less than precise movements. If the information is not finished, for the first item selected, it is ineffective. The other major issue I have with this item is the placement of the stylus cord for the writing tablet, which is located on the right side. My daughter is left handed, but the cord is too tight and rigid for her to comfortably write with her dominant hand. While tracing her letters she instinctively switches to her right hand, which leads to frustration when she struggles to complete them smoothly. I have a lot of grace for the design flaws in toys marketed toward imaginative play, but educational products, should really be held to a higher standard. In conclusion, the Vtech Explore & Write Activity Desk caused my daughter confusion and delayed her educational progress.

Purchased this for my first daughter… she loved it and it was multi functional. Purchased it again for my second daughter. Switched batteries multiple times. There appears to be a short, passed the window to return or exchange, very disappointed. Waste of money, daughter was not able to get any use out of the activity table.

The touch is too sensitive. It doesn't complete a sentence to help kids learn. If they touch multiple items while learning something, there is no separation. The sheets do not lock into place so my toddler just takes them out lol not the best product. I don't feel it was made with a toddler in mind. The stool isn't sturdy at all it slides on the hardwood floor so be sure to purchase a mat.

This desk is wonderful. My three-year-old absolutely loves it. Lots of things to do and interactive, encouraging the practice of art and learning practical knowledge. Her favorite part is the little writing tablet (as she has started writing letters). However, the cord for the pen is very short (less than a foot long) and is tethered to the right side of the tablet. We are learning that she is left-handed, so, not only does the short cord prevent her from getting full range of motion when practicing her writing skills, but it being attached on the right side means the cord has to be pulled tightly across the face of the tablet, which means it gets in the way. If you have a left-handed child, I would search for another option. But aside from that, it is a great product.

It really needs some kind of rubber on the bottom of the stool and table because it moves around a lot even on carpet. I had to use her camping chair otherwise she was going to end up meeting that table face first eventually. The storage part is pointless and a pain to attempt to use as storage. For smaller kids they have a hard time pressing the table without another part going off from their little arms tapping a lower button.. kinda needs a bit of a slant really. It’s really cute and my daughter loves it but there’s a lot of design flaws especially for the price so I’m glad I got it on a really good sale. Mentioning the price it’s also crazy how much the expansions cost and you kinda need to get them otherwise there’s not very much going on with it for the price and flaws.
