A: Hi! Without the leaf extended it is 59” and with it extended it is 74.8”.

A: Hi! It extends from the center of the table. When you extend the table, it’ll expose the center leaflet compartment and you can open the leaflet to lie flushed with the table. Hope this helps!

The one star is because the table looks beautiful and is very solid. It arrived damaged on the top of the table and I noticed this only after I fully assembled and turned the table to set it right . This was frustrating ! I requested replacement of just the top to avoid the hassle of returning the entire thing which is HEAVY! This was rejected and they prefer I return the entire thing -Poor customer service from vendor and Target! I will not be buying big furniture from Target.com ever again

Overall very pleased with this purchase. Overall very easy to put together, with clear visual directions although no worded instructions. Very sturdy and looks very high quality wood, far more than I'd imagined for self-assembled dining table. The hardest part in assembly was the final 16 screws which take a bit of effort to drive in, as the instructions advise against using power tools. The only 2 negative issues concerned the hinges for the leaf storage. 1) one of the two hinges supporting the self-storing leaf underneath the table, arrived damaged, so the leaf could not be properly supported and stored if the table was in the original (unextended) position... the leaf is way too heavy for just one hinge to hold it underneath, which I discovered as soon as I had the table in the upright position after assembly. This was not a problem for me personally as I wanted the table fully extended with the leaf all the time anyway, but would have been an issue if that wasn't the case. 2) Both hinges for storing the leaf, actually seem to physically prevent the table from being properly closed when the leaf is in place in the extended table. This seems a design flaw (I couldn't figure out why this would be but I could not see how to close it, the hinges literally are in the way). But since I wasn't going to be storing the leaf anyway (especially since the one hinge was damaged) I just unscrewed both hinges and removed them from the table altogether (easily done). However, if you are wanting to then re-store the leaf back under the table, you'd have to screw the hinges back in, which is obviously not supposed to have to happen... Or you could just store the leaf somewhere else! So that is the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, but for my purposes, the end result is perfect for my needs and the quality exceeded my expectations especially for the price.
