Make delicious homemade ice cream and yogurt that you can fully customize to taste with the Whynter ICM-220 2 Quart Ice Cream & Yogurt Maker. Incredibly easy to use, you can create delicious ice cream, rich creamy gelato, and sorbet as well as fresh and healthy all-natural yogurt – from traditional to Greek styles, using ingredients you trust all in the comfort of your own home. Ideal for entertaining, this high capacity machine makes up to two quarts of your favorite frozen dessert or yogurt style in a single batch.
The ice cream function offers premium functions and features not available in budget machines. The powerful built-in compressor freezer allows for continuous use without the inconvenience of having to pre-freeze the stainless steel mixing bowl. The Whynter ICM-220CGY features an Extended Cooling function that prevents the ice cream mixture from melting and a Motor Protection function that stops the motor from churning to prevent overheating or damage to the motor when the mixture becomes solid.
The yogurt function incubates your choice of milk and yogurt starter at temperatures between 104ºF to 110ºF. Making homemade yogurt allows you to make your favorite style using your preferred ingredients such as Probiotics, organic, raw or non-dairy milks. Ideal for people with food allergies or those who want a natural alternative to store bought yogurt. Add in fruit, nuts or other toppings to make yogurt parfaits, fruit yogurt or enjoy plain. I am so happy I upgraded to this machine after owning a cheaper machine with a freezer bowl. Having a compressor makes it much easier and faster to make ice cream. The 2-quart capacity is great, and the finished product is much better than what I was able to make before. I'd recommend this machine to anyone looking to improve their ice cream game. It is well built, and the stainless steel rose gold looks premium.

I bought this ice cream maker for my kids for Christmas and they absolutely love it. We have made a lot of different flavors and we are able to make our ice cream healthier because we can control the amount of sugar that does in and also leave out the preservatives and stabilizers that store bought ice cream has. I would recommend this ice cream maker to anyone who wants to make the best homemade ice cream without the hassle of having to pre-freeze a bowl or mess around with ice and rock salt.

I'm 62 and have been making homemade ice cream with my family since I was a little boy. I've used everything from hand crank to various electric freezers. My white Mountain electric freezer died a few years ago. Our daughter bought us the Whynter for Christmas and let me tell you it's the best thing since the invention of A/C. This ice cream maker is extremely quiet and you do not have to deal with the mess of rock salt and crushed ice. It seems to be very well constructedI and I highly recommend it.

My husband surprised me with this machine. I had been on the fence about buying one for awhile and I am so glad you bought it for me. It works fast, quiet, and effortlessly to make creamy decadent fozen desserts with pure ingredients. Nothing added like in store bought ice creams. I'm replacing a freezer bowl ice cream maker. I never used it much because of the space the bowls took up and the pre-planning involved to get them frozen. With the Whynter ice cream maker, I can fire it up when the mood strikes! Plus, the ice cream doesn't cake to the side of the bowl, so I don't have to work for an hour to chisel it off. A keeper!

I use this machine daily, often multiple times. It is so easy to use and does its job quickly without requiring me to think ahead to freeze a bowl and then wait for it to refreeze. My only wish is that it would have come with an additional bowl and blade.

Very satisfied with the unit. Easy to use and simple instructions. I have read most of the reviews and so far disagree with all the negative ones. The unit will freeze 1 quart of prepared cream in less than a half hour (not solid obviously, but to a soft serve consistence). The concept of not having to deal with ice and salt is the prime reason for my use. So far, all the recipes I have tried have had no problem. Fruit, chocolate bits, peppermint pieces all get stirred in equally. One of the reviews stated they had a problem with the bowl leaking but that must have been a defect. As well, I hand wash the bowl and blade, no dishwasher. It's fairly compact, not noisy, and not a mess to use. Great toy for good recipes! The other thing is that if you are in the mood for a quick desert, like 8-16 ounces, it'll freeze it up in 15-20 minutes, like while you eat dinner. I'm very happy with it.

I never thought I would make my own yogurt or ice cream, but this machine makes it so accessible. The operating menus are easy to navigate, the unit feels and sounds well-built, and I have been making yogurt and ice cream for a few months with it now without any problems.

Makes terrific ice cream! I have not used the yogurt function since I use my IP for that. Big foot print so check your dimensions to ensure it will work for where you want it. Dairy and egg allergies in the household so purchased this to make vegan ice cream and it handles it beautifully!

I bought this item a few months ago. I read complaints about the plastic gear stripping and not driving the ice cream bucket, but this machine has steel gears so no worries there. One other complaint I read was it only had a 1 quart capacity, what people forget is with 4 cups of ingredients, it will expand when frozen to fill the 2 quart capacity. My son and I have a lot of fun experimenting with different flavors of ice cream. Be realistic on what is used to make ice cream, don’t expect to make a great texture ice cream from low fat or non fat milk, best to use heavy creams and whole milk. You won’t regret this purchase.

I have tried several ice cream makers but they were always such a pain to use-ice, salt, and waiting was just too much of a process for me. So, when I saw this on Costco's website I was elated! You literally mix the ingredients, dump them in, and in an hour you have perfect homemade ice cream. Some people said "it is loud" but it just makes a whirring sound and that's it. I wouldn't want it sitting next to me while I was watching TV, but the convenience of it makes that a no big deal to me. Well worth it, and all of my friends said, "Wait, THAT'S an ice cream maker?" and loved it. Fast, easy, easy to clean (no dishwasher!) and the shape/size is storable. I am going to try to find additional stainless steel removable bowls though so I can get another load going while the other one is being eaten!
So far, so good!
