A: Hi Nisisi - yes, you need to freeze the bowl prior to use. It's recommended you freeze the bowl for 12 to 24 hours prior to use. To determine whether the bowl is completely frozen, shake it. If you do not hear liquid moving, the cooling liquid is frozen

A: Hi Kat, yes you can make slushies in this machine! You can use the recipe below or create your own take on it too. Preparation: 5 minutes or less; 15 – 20 minutes; plus 15 - 20 minutes chilling time. 4 cups cola or other soda, lemonade, cranberry juice, white grape juice, Kool-Aid®, chilled * 1. Turn the machine ON, pour soda into freezer bowl and let mix until thick and slushy, about 15 to 20 minutes. 2. Serve immediately, or if desired, transfer to an airtight container and store in the freezer. Remove from freezer at least 20 minutes before serving. * Do not use sugar free products to make slushies.

A: No. It has a freezer bowl that you need to keep in the freezer for at least 8 hours before making the ice cream. Longer than 8 hours is even better.

The machine works nicely. A little noisy. No matter how long your mixture sits to get cold, your ice cream will be a soft serve, which i do not like. You can not make batches back to back. You have to freeze the canister each usage.

Love this ice cream maker! Makes delicious ice cream and it’s easy to use and clean. Only thing is there the recipes that come with it seem to make more ice cream then expected. It gets too full so I have to make two batches in the ice cream maker. Which is fine bc we love ice cream!

I’ve used it twice for ice cream. First was Simple Vanilla second was Vanilla Bean and both were delicious. The machine was noisy for sure. The ice cream comes out pretty soft so I recommend serving after it’s been in the freezer for a little while. If it’s left in the freezer for hours you need to let it set out about 12 minutes to soften so you can scoop it. Glad I bought it because it tastes good and it doesn’t have a bunch of additives like store-bought. If you use the “Simple” recipes it’s really quick and easy.
I may never buy grocery store ice cream again!

As long as the freezer bowl is frozen solid, it works great. I once thought it was close enough, but it wasn't and the ice cream did not churn up nicely. I now keep the bowl in the deep freeze set at 0 degrees at all times when not in use. I am enjoying trying many recipes. I like that I can control the ingredients used. I have never eaten so much ice cream in my life!

I love this ice cream maker! So easy to use (add your ingredients, turn a knob, and you have 2 quarts of ice cream or frozen yogurt in 25 minutes) and the recipes are excellent. The pistachio is better than any I've had anywhere.

I bought this as I am sick of all the chemicals in the shop bought ice creams. It is very easy to use and it makes it faster than I thought approx 20-25 mins.
