Description
The Worx Nitro 40V Power Share 16” Cordless Chain Saw with Brushless Motor was developed to provide greater performance without all the drawbacks of using a gas-powered tool. 40V of power and a high-efficiency brushless motor combine to spin the high-speed 16” chain at up to 59 ft./s., but at a fraction of the cost of operating a gas-powered chain saw over its lifetime. Battery powered chain saws are less expensive to power and maintain, and are cleaner than gas-powered tools. They’re designed for professional use or for advanced DIY-ers. With the Nitro 40V Chain Saw you can cut up to 30” diameter logs that are on the ground or 15” diameter trees and limbs that are still standing. The one-touch tool-less tension system prevents the chain from overtightening and the automatic chain lubrication feature ensures you’ll always have a well-oiled chain which increases the life of both the bar and the chain. The chain pitch is 3/8 in. and this battery powered chain saw weighs only 15.3 lbs. with the batteries installed and 12.4 lbs. bare. (That’s light for a chain saw when compared to older, traditional models.) It’s perfect for residential home flippers or property owners that need to clear land or chop up fallen tree limbs after a storm. It’s great for disaster clean-up crews, or forestry, nature preserve, and wildlife staff.

Does the brushless motor ever need to be cleaned? What is the maintenance for this chainsaw beside oil refills and blade replacements?

The saw works great, but the chain will stretch and there isn't enough bar to tighten the chain. when this happens (and it will) the saw is useless because when anyone tries to use the saw the chain will jump off the bar. most of your work time will be spent putting the chain back on the bar only to have the same thing happen again.

Hello Valued Customer! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and review. We're glad to hear that you've been enjoying the saw. The chain will stretch while cutting and lose proper tension. When the chain becomes loose, completely unscrew the chain tensioning knob or turn the knob around three (3) full turns in a counter-clockwise direction, then retighten the chain tensioning knob to properly reset the chain tension. Please be aware that new chains will stretch as well, and we highly recommend checking the tension frequently when first used and tighten when the chain becomes loose around the guide bar. Thank you for choosing WORX tools!

The past couple of years we have had some severe storms with high winds. This resulted in trees and limbs falling multiple times. I have been using a smaller chainsaw but decided with the latest downed trees event to buy a larger battery chain saw. I looked at multiple saws and decide to stick with the 16" Nitro due to my past experience with WORX tools and being able to use the other WORX batteries, if needed, I have a WORX leaf blower, trimmer, extension chain saw, snow blower and garden shears that all work great. The Nitro was no different as it cut through the 2 tree trunks with ease. The Nitro made the job very easy.

Cuts surprisingly well. Very light weight. one set of batteries gets full charge while using the other. keeping proper chain tension almost impossible I would prefer a conventional chain tensioner
This is a game changer for Worx

The advanced battery design and the brushless motor of the 40V Nitro 16" Chainsaw are a game changer. I have owned a Worx blower for almost a decade and I still use the orginal battery. But the new battery design that is included with my new Nitro Chainsaw has incredible strength and longevity. These batteries combined with the brushless motor create a surprisingly strong combination. Way to go Worx.

40V 16 inch chainsaw worked great. Limbed and cut up 50 feet of a downed pine and 4 other smaller trees caught in its wake on a single charge. Very pleased with the feel and function of this chainsaw.
I’m so happy with this chainsaw.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fast delivery, powerful, lightweight and QIIET! I’m in my senior years, not super strong and I feel safe using this chainsaw. Starts and stops with push of a button, huge for me with limited strength in my shoulders I can’t use our gas powered saw. I bought this for my husband hoping I could use it too. We both are loving it. We live in a forest and sadly loosing big trees due to increasing wind strengths here. We are clearing out limbs that could threaten property and cleaning up trees that have fallen.

This chain saw works harder than the big gas-powered chain saw I have always used. Especially good for trimming trees as it is light yet powerful. Batteries lasted as long as I could work.
Feels like a gas powered chainsaw!

Bought this to clear trees at the edge of my property. First thought, out of the box, it is heavy. Then put two 4amp hour batteries on it and Wow It is heavy as gas unit. Now for use. It's is awesome. Cuts like butter as it should. I love how much quieter it is over a gas unit. The 16 in. Is the perfect size for getting small and medium size jobs done. It is the perfect tool to go along with all of my other Worx tools. Perfect in every way.

Well I have had this Saw for about three weeks and it is Good really Good but I would love to see it if the batteries were more powerful. I mean it is excellent what it was made for but I put it to the test right out of the box, I had an oak That my Husband laid down about a month prior and this thing is every bit of 38 to 40 inches in diameter. well, my Husband Died before he could come back and finish cutting it up and I knew I could not use the extension cord that he used so I ordered this one from the Works because I have been ordering from them for years now. anyway, it did the Job wish it would have gone a little faster.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife bought me this saw as she hated the noise and smell of my gas chin saws. I was pleasantly surprised at its power and runtime before recharging. We like it so much that we bought a second one immediately so now we have a spare set of batteries and. Backup saw. Easily cuts a 12-14” tree! I will only use my gas saws on large trees now. Brushless motor and adjustable chain tightening just another added perk. Absolutely love it
