Description
Who would have thought that chainsaws would ever be easy to operate? Well, Worx engineers did and built an ergonomic, user-friendly saw packed with more than enough power and length to accomplish all the backyard cutting tasks you’re likely to come across. With a 14” bar, it can chop logs up to 28” that are already on the ground so that you can clean up after the storm. The efficient 8-Amp motor provides consistent performance every time out. And because this chainsaw is electric, you don’t have to buy gas to power it, and it’s much easier to start. You won’t be yanking on a cord over and over, and you won’t fill the air with the smell of gasoline. Plus, it’ll cost you less to operate. (Gas is expensive!)
The Worx 14” – 8-Amp Electric Chainsaw is low-maintenance, too. The tool-less chain tightening system and the easy prime oil pump keep this saw running smoothly, and will significantly extend the life of the bar and chain. The rubberized overmold grips make this saw surprisingly comfortable to use for a chainsaw and give you an unprecedented level of control. It’s a perfectly balanced saw for light to medium duty trimming, limbing, pruning, and cleaning up debris from around the yard. And it’s covered by a 3-year limited warranty with full customer care support just a phone call away.

Leaks Bar Oil Badly.
2 out of 5 stars

I bought a 14" electric chainsaw a few weeks ago. On the plus side, it does work pretty well from a cutting standpoint. Surprisingly powerful and a good alternative to a petrol saw when you are working close to the house. Unfortunately, the downside is it leaks bar oil like a sieve. I did read a few reviews that noted leaking bar oil but it wasn't all that many so I figured I'd take a chance. But it didn't work. It leaks bar oil really badly, more than I've ever seen anything leak oil before. absolutely if I had known this was going to be the case then I would not have bought it. The attached photo is the saw sitting on a oil drip pan, I can not leave the saw on any surface. The amount may not look like a lot but it's from the cold saw just sitting and dripping. When it's actually running the amount is a great deal more, it goes all over the floor and will get onto whatever you are wearing. So, if you can get one that doesn't leak then it's going to be great, the issue as far as I can see however if you have no way of knowing in advance. I would recommend you consider other saws under the circumstances.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this for 5 years and it has taken down many limbs (tree limbs, that is!) and trees. I have also used it to divide up large stumps for further chopping and splitting. It is lightweight and easy to hold and maneuver, and easy to clean and maintain. Worx for me!

I bought this because I had one tree to take down. I saved time and money doing it myself. I have a couple of neighbors who will use it when they need it. The chainsaw was all ready to go out of the box, just added oil. Cut through my birch tree with no problem. Sharp chain, proper tension. Way less noise than a gas powered chain saw and probably safer. I have used an electric chainsaw before, years ago, different brand. I am very impressed with the quality, weight, durability and ease of handling. I own several other WORX Tools and all are very high Quality. TTHANKS WORX.

Seems like a great chain saw, cut through 2 tree trucks although small, say about 6 to 8 inches. I just made 2 cuts and chain was oiled and tightened but still came off for some reason.
Not bad but it has its problems...

I got this saw after searching for something that would be easy enough for a woman to use. I have a weed eater from Worx and this looked great. Not super big but big enough to take care of the littler stuff. The directions shows how to use the saw but I didn't do it. I will try though. The problem I have is just like everybody else, oil leaks out of the saw when not in use, and the chain pops off frequently. I used it according to directions and that darn chain keeps popping off. The bad part was I was teaching myself how to use it when the chain first popped off. I didn't cut anything. Other wise I cut my tree and it was probably a job that a professional should have done but I wanted to do it. The saw and I both survived. The sound it makes is like something I would use to trim the bushes around the house. I like that quiet. Still going to use it and hope the chain settles in.
Cost Effective but!

The unit performed admirably between chain throws. In the first 2 hours of operating the unit had to re-seat the chain five times. I would attribute this to stretching.

I used the saw for the first time and it seems to work fine. The gears are made of plastic so we will see how long it holds up. I was not happy when I set the saw on my air compressor over night and found oil all over the compressor and down on my paver driveway. I had loosen the cap and re-tighten it.

I am experienced chain saw user. I could not get the chain to say engaged and on track. No matter what I did the chain popped, I bought two 14 inch saws. I am returning both of them.

Just had a chance to use the new saw this weekend, I half expected it to fall apart on the first branch but it actually did a pretty good job taking down an old tree in the front yard that was leaning toward my roof. The one thing I have to complain about was the electrical plug on the saw was burned up when I got it, had to replace it before using the tool.

I bought this as a gift for an older friend, He called me last night with his reaction....he loves it....perfect weight, cuts like butter.... And has made his tree trimming needs around his home immensely easier...it initially leaked some oil when stored, but he thinks he overfilled it...as it now no longer leaks oil....he says he keeps it about 1/2 full on oil when storing....I felt really good hearing his feedback....Not only would I recommend, I bought one for a friend....
Good saw for the money.

I bought a refurbished one of these and it came packed in an open box with one piece of oily paper. The housing which clamps the blade on is cracked, but doesn't seem to affect performance. Saw cuts small limbs fine but is more a pruning saw then for felling trees over 3" in diameter. It is quieter and easier to maintain than my gas powered saw.

I brought this saw to cut up two trees that fell in my yard after a storm I have a gas chainsaw that I had to get worked on because I do't use it that often. This saw is great it cuts good low noise and even better LOW maintenance. I will look into a cordless one but this one is great close to the house.

This is my first chainsaw so I'm no expert. I've only used it one time to cut down some weeds and a couple of bushes. The weeds kept getting caught in the saw and when I'd pull them out the chain would pop. Cutting the bush limbs in a downward motion was fine but trying to cut the bush stems horizontally didn't go well. It wouldn't cut all the way through. The pictures on the website lead me to believe that the skinny limbs I have would be easy. I'll let a guy try it and see if he has better luck.
cuts very well and light weight

over all the saw works very well the chain tightening mechanism isn' t as good as it could be. there needs to be a separate screw for tightening the side cover and getting the bar lined up. the area inside the cover clogs up and throws the chain off, but that is a problem that a lot of saws have. The chain is very high quality and stays sharp after cutting over a cord of wood. It is a very good saw for the money.
