Broke after only a few months

If I'd used it only for a regular pencil, I probably would've given it 5 stars, because it does a great job, very sharp point. Buuuut, then I began sharpening my daughter's colored (map) pencils and it was awful! The first one jammed it and I had to take it apart to get the piece out. It does worse a job, the softer the wood. The firmer colored pencils do slightly better, but it takes several goes and eats up a lot of pencil before it gets a decent point.... the softer wood just jams it over and over. So if you're only using hard, regular pencils, this is a great choice for you.... but not for anything else.

Doesn’t really sharpen

This pencil sharpener broke after six months. We didn't use it all that often either. Would not recommend purchasing.

This sharpener kept getting stuck on our pencils (Ticonderoga brand). You have to push them in very slowly and it doesn’t sharpen smoothly, it feels like the motor is really working hard. It wasn’t sharpening our pencils evenly either but maybe another brand would work better.

Short cord causes tripping issues. Longer cord needed for safety when sharpening pencils.

After one week of using the pencil sharpener it stopped working.

Broke after 2 years but worked well for that time! Sharpened standard #2 pencils and colored pencils in no time. Going to buy this again. The motor must have died. Nothing is stuck in the chamber so I assume that's what failed. One downside is how small the sharpening catcher is. It's just the front clear part and it gets full quickly and is messy to empty when full. We've had many a spill over. But for the money, it's a great sharpener.

Didn't come with the adapter/cord so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to use it. Will be returning.

My first sharpener lasted me 2 1/2 years. I recently purchased a second one. You truly get your moneys worth.

Couldn’t get through more than 3 colored pencils. Kept stopping. I’d have to rotate the pencil slightly to keep going. Sharpened the first one quickly and nicely. Then it started chewing them up awfully.

When it works, it works fine. However, I can only get it to work correctly about 10% of the time. I don't know what the problem is - we'll clean it out, make sure nothing is stuck in there, but it just doesn't sharpen. Or it will - but it'll be off-center somehow so you get more of the wood of the pencil at the point instead of the actual pencil color. Also, the front part (that you pull off in order to clean/empty it) does NOT stay on well, so if you bump it wrong you'll send pencil shavings all over your floor/desk. I would not recommend this item.

This is a waste of money and time trying to sharpen pencils! Takes forever to get one done. I bought it for my kids coloring pencils and it’s been a nightmare tbh.
