Redeeming the card is a multi-step process so my guess is that is what confused a lot of the people leaving negative reviews. I receveid 3 emails from Target. The email I needed to redeem the pass had the subject line: Good news! A XBOX Game Pass... The email had a red button called "eCard Center". After clicking I was asked for an email. I assumed this was the email I used when making the purchase. After entering the email I was taken to a "Thank you for your order" screen. There a link on this screen titled "View eGift". When I clicked this link it showed me the code I needed to enter into my xbox account to redeem the Game Pass.

Purchased to get instant access and because it was a great deal. Received the code in less than 4 minutes. When I entered it into the console it said code was invalid. I then copied the code and pasted it into the Xbox website while signed into my account and that worked right away.

Unfortunately, to play a $70 game online, you have to open your wallet again, because that’s how they get ya. Fortunately, target makes buying and utilizing this membership simple and painless. Buy a physical one in store, or buy online and receive the code normally within an hour or two. A simple way to buy a membership you shouldn’t need. No, I’m not bitter. You’re bitter.

I don’t really like to purchase codes online, but I couldn’t find the year subscription for Xbox Live on the Microsoft website. They are currently offering the 1 month for $9.99 and the 3 month for $24.99. I always get the 12 month since $59.99 for the year is a better deal. So I decided to order a code. I made my purchase at 9:12pm and received my code at 9:17pm. With in a couple of minutes, I was already playing with friends.
