Q: How long or how many gallons will filter last? Thanks

I purchased the Zero Water pitcher. I let the water cycle through twice. Washed the pitcher prior to use. It has not been 3 weeks and my water is tasting sour. Taste similar to diluted fruit juice. 15 gallons per filter life?

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. Some of our customers have used other, traditional filtration systems, such as a Culligan Whole House Filter to treat the water prior to filtering through a Zero Water filter. In many cases that will cut the TDS level down enough to make the use of ZeroWater more economical. There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short.

This filter works great. It's slower to filter if your water is hard water. Filters water as described. I recommend.

I've been using this brand for 2 years and I kinda like it, except for the fact that it makes the water sour if the filter isn't changed on time. Recently bought a new filter, but it doesn't work. The water doesn't go through the filter. Got a replacement, and it doesn't work either. The company might have changed something about it. So disappointed.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.

This filter only lasted 2 weeks before making the water taste sour. It also had liquid dripping out of it when I first got the package. Very disappointing purchase

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. The contents inside the filter are rinsed with purified water before it is packed. This can cause condensation inside the bag or lid, which is harmless. Filter life is based on the quality of the water being filtered. The higher the TDS reading the shorter the filter life and vice versa. Test your tap water and use the chart in the link below to determine the average number of gallons based on your specific tap water TDS reading. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0311/5499/5336/files/tds-chart.jpg?v=1601429855

Manufacturing issue??

Purchased the same filter I’ve been using over the last year in December 2022 and just went to replace it (January 2023) and when I opened the sealed plastic, it already had water in it ???? Gross! How long has it been sitting in packaging with water in it? Also it’s like it’s manufactured incorrectly because it’s barely too big to screw into the top piece. I’ve bought these before and had no issues, so I know it’s not user error.

PLASTIC smell/taste

I’ve been using Zerowater for years. Bounght 2 of these 6 months ago, and now found out that they both have very weird plastic smell/taste(Not the same type of acid taste when it’s about to expire), yet meter shows 000. Suspect it’s either unluck of getting 2 of a defective batch, or they are just not legit.

The Best

I had the Brita filter for years, but had started to notice a mildew smell from the filter, thought it was just me, so purchased new filters, but no after a few used the filter had that awful smell...... so I upgraded to the Zero water. It is GREAT, the water tastes great, and I don't like water, only drink sometimes...The filter last me about 6 months, (I live alone and am 72)...only draw back, it is heavy... the filter itself is big has weight to it, but in the pitcher with water, and it is heavy. I have the small 7gal pitcher The meter that comes with it does work, lets you know when to change the filter.

I became concerned about my tap water about 4 years ago and, at that time, Zero Water filters were the only ones available in the US that filtered chemicals and minerals, including lead. I don't believe in knowingly consuming harmful anything and this filter helps. I can spend less on 1 filter and have plenty of drinking water for a month and not have any plastic containers to take to be recycled. The water is great tasting, too.
