Q: How sturdy is this set? Will it fall apart if a child accidentally bumps it?

submitted by Lori - 3 years ago
  • A: MindWare Marble Run pieces are carefully designed to fit together with tight connections which aids in making a sturdy build. Sturdiness also comes from how you build each run. Building a wide base with multiple support columns will ensure the structure remains strong during continuous play.

So much fun!!

My grandson loves building with this set. He's 4 and I let him figure out how to build things with minimal help. It's fun to teach him about gravity, momentum, and perseverance. It was a favorite of his mom and uncle when they were kids, and we found some pieces of it packed away, but not enough to make anything. Luckily, Mindware still makes sets that fit with the old one!

Pretty great!

This marble run is pretty great. My toddler loves to build different configurations and continues to be impressed by gravity and all it’s wonders haha. I do wish it had slightly more “down hill” pieces to help the marbles gain more momentum, but I still recommend it!

Not great

You can't look or breathe on it once you connect the pieces or it will fall apart. The only engineering fun this toy brings to the table is failure testing. If you like to listen to endless complaining this toy is for you!

Comes Apart Easily, But We Try to Make it Fun!

This doesn’t stay together as well as the original marble run toys from the 80s/90s. If your child enjoys building and taking things apart, it could work well for you. It comes apart easily. We’ve been treating it like a Jenga game, and now my son laughs when it comes apart.

Dont waste your money - buy a better quality set!

This set is absolute garbage. It’s flimsy and falls apart so easily. All it does is frustrate my kids. You can’t even finish building it before it’s popping apart and breaking. I don’t know how it has 4 out of 5 star rating overall. They must’ve compensated people for reviews to get that high of a rating. My daughter was so wzcited to get this set. Unfortunately she tore the box to shreds and it went out with the trash so we can’t return it. Don’t waste your money. Buy a better quality set elsewhere!

Great for 5 year old

This is the second marble run we’ve purchased for my 5 year old and it is way easier for him to use. He is able to assemble it independently and the pieces stay together. This toy is used daily in our house.

Marble Run Fun

Easy to snap together for my 2 1/2 YR old grandson. Challenging to assemble the marble track for him but he loves to look at the box and try to figure it out. This has become our favorite toy. Well made sturdy construction.

Great sturdy toy

Bought this for my four year old and he loves it. He needs help taking it apart and redesigning it but we’ve had no issues with it falling apart while playing with it.

Falls apart constantly

Really difficult to keep the pieces together and many don't fit. My nephew was incredibly frustrated and sad trying to play with this. Waste of time and money.

Eh, not worth $35

This is not worth the price. Pretty junky, falls apart super easily. No way a child under 8 can do this without an adult.

10/10

This turned out to be great for my almost 3 year old! As long as you have the patience to rebuild when it inevitably gets knocked over, this serves as an excellent distraction!

Great toy

This has been hours of fun. None of the pieces have broken in any way which I was worried about. This thing is fun even without a marble if there are kids too young to be trusted with a marble. There plenty of pieces too. Enough to make a solid maze but not too much to be overwhelming

DONT WASTE YOUR $$

It’s almost impossible to put together and even if you do put it together it will not stay together. Not stable at all. Probably the worst toy I’ve ever bought. Not worth almost $40 AT ALL. It would be much better if it actually came with instructions and snapped together or something. So disappointed
