Q: Does the mattress slide around at all when placed on the platform?

A: you can add a non-slip pad to prevent the mattress from sliding around.

A: You may need a ladder/step stool to climb on the bed if you use both box spring and mattress. The purpose of this frame is to eliminate the need of a box spring and provide much more under bed storage.

submitted byZinus - 6 years agoBrand expertA: you definitely can, but you don't necessarily have to. the frame supports the mattress just fine to be honest. Having the box spring and then the mattress will lift up your bed higher too, so just keep that in mind as well.

A: A little less than normal bed. Also there is a leg in the middle, Which restricts some.

A: All you get is a frame. You would need to buy everything else. Not hard to put together at all.

It’s used with all different types of mattresses. Mattress is sold separately. Yes it requires assembly since it would be difficult to ship fully set up, but it requires no tools and just snaps into place.

A: You do not need a box spring. We put a 3 1/2 inch mattress toppwr on it and it works great. You can fold it up and transport very easy. One of my Top purchases. One of the best things I have bought.

A: I purchased the brackets and successfully attached a headboard to the twin frame I bought for my daughter's room. It has held up fine after more than a year of use.

I am shocked how this product is rated so well. I suspect it could be paid reviews. The frame is very poorly made with cheap quality materials. The spokes that go across the bed frame are very thin and are poorly welded. I weigh just over 200 pounds and I sleep on a queen mattress. My mattress is a 8 inch mattress and weighs less than 150 pounds. I have been using this bed frame for less than a week and the thin spokes are already bending and sagging. The "2400 pound" capacity they claim is a complete lie. This can barely hold a 200 pound person on a queen frame. It now started to make squeaking sounds when I turn on the mattress.

Been using it for about 2 months now. Assembly was quick and easy. Fairly comfortable. But it started to squeak about two weeks into use, now it squeaks with every shuffle throughout the night. I sleep on it alone and weigh about 130 pounds.

This product is shown as is. It was very easy to assemble- it took approximately 15 minutes to get out of the box and put together. It is a good height with the mattress- and does not need a box spring or slats- very nice!

I am disappointed. the language used to advertise the Zinus bed seemed convincing. However, this is not a very good product. The swing out anchors (which are designed to ensure that the legs do not move), do not stay in place. The anchor should have some kind of nut or cap that secures it once it is placed in the hole. I am not sure I can trust this bed! I may just return it and order something that is made better.

I ordered the Twin XL frame for our guest room. Out of the box, the frame comes folded with four support rods that require a wingnut to secure each rod. Great, no tools required! The frame looks a little flimsy, and I wondered if it could support someone over 200 lbs. There are six legs altogether; one for each corner, and the other two supporting the mid-section of the frame. Because of the toe-stub factor, I bought a pool noodle and cut them to match the length of the leg. It won't eliminate the toe stubbing, but it will provide enough cushioning to not send you to the ER for a busted toe. There's a 14-inch clearance between the leg base and the bottom of the bed frame to allow for additional storage. I bought a 10-inch Twin XL memory foam mattress, and lays nicely onto the bed frame. As a preference I may buy a box spring frame in the future to give the bed additional height, though the height and the support is fine without the box spring.

I had a bulky sleigh bed and decided to get rid of it because it was too high up and took up most of my room. I wanted simplicity and I got it. I did not think this base would have worked (I am a big person) but it did. I love it so much I am purchasing another one for my extra bedroom instead of having bulky furniture which, lets be real, for decorative purposes when all you need is functionality and this provides it.
