It made it sound like iwas wide enough to hold 2 sticks of butter. it does not. also the top handle is slippery, so the knob is pointless.

It's a nice-looking piece, but a standard stick of butter doesn't fit properly! The bottom tray will accommodate the stick, but the lid is too steeply sloped, so the top edges of the stick actually make contact w/ the lid. The lid knob is also a bit small, so, when my hands are slick, the grip feels a bit unsteady. We've replaced it w/ a far more utilitarian, but far more useful (and cheaper), butter dish (also available at Target).

the design will work with many different kitchen designs. it one bubble in the glass. the knob allows for easy removal when your fingers are buttered. it's just lovely
