This product is great for natural hair and repairing dryness and eliminating frizz. It doesn’t have much of a smell but the texture is smooth and easy to apply and a little goes a long way.

Shea Moisture products have been my absolute go to for well over a decade. Unfortunately there have been many ingredient changes, and not for the better. After using this strengthen and restore shampoo. The leave in conditioner as well (which had been my favorite) I had itching scalp and the skin exposed to the shampoo. Many sores on scalp after use. I take fabulous loving care of my hair and I am more than offended by the changes this company has made in its products. Well, back to the hunt for healthier safe hair and skin care.

The scent is not overpowering, the ingredients are clean, the bottle always work, the texturw of the shampoo is slimie but it emulsify well in your hands.Over all get your hair really clean.

I had an eczema flare up and this time around my scalp was peeling, dry and red :( nothing worked. I randomly got this shampoo and it worked so well!! My scalp is really soft and not flaky. I'll continue using it. Smells nice as well.

Very good ingredients, fair trade. While using it it helped my hair grow as well as making it stronger. Has a vanilla-type scent. Texture is odd and the packaging is your typical shampoo packaging.

I love the Shea moisture brand. The Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil shampoo does not disappoint. I have experienced some breakage, but this shampoo and conditioner has truly helped my hair start the recovery process. It smells great it lathers wonderful you only need to wash it twice in your hair feels amazing and it’s even better when you follow up with the conditioner.

Always leaves my hair feeling cleaned from scalp to tip, especially after using any oils and product build up. You do need to shake it properly to mix up the soap that settles at the bottom.

I used to love this shampoo until I realized the formula changed. Unfortunately I didn’t realize it until I just recently used it & my scalp started to burn immediately. I literally have red sores on my scalp. I’m so tired of these hair companies & their shenanigans with formula changes. As soon as consumers find something they like, they go & mess it up. Quit trying to fix what isn’t broken!

This is the absolute WORST shampoo I’ve ever tried! I never leave reviews but I usually love this brand and I’m disappointed. Leaves behind so much soap and buildup in my hair no matter how much I rinse.

I purchased Shea Moisture products to AVOID harmful ingredients. Well, was I wrong!!! Now the "new formulation" adds polyquaternium-10, polysorbates, amd other toxic ingredients. These ingredients are horrible for your health and safety. They cause me to have severe skin irritations, and systemic allergic reactions. Sad to say, but Shea Moisture has really gone against what I thought they stood for. Don't buy these new formulations if you value your health, wellness, and safety!!!

I had to read the reviews before I wrote mine and I have been holding back for months. Been using this shampoo for more than three years and boy did the formula change. There's no sort of lather and my hair never feels clean when I wash it, it always feels like there's still buildup on my hair. I also noticed breakouts on my scalp and shedding of my hair. Most of all, I noticed when the shampoo is done how many particles are left in the bottle unlike before. It also seems to stain shower curtains etc. I will most likely throw out the few bottles I have left and I won't repurchase.

I've spent yearsss trying to find the perfect shampoo and this shampoo WAS the one. I've used it for years and raved about it to anyone who would listen. It moisturized my dyed hair, permed hair, you name it. But with the new formulation, the shampoo has gone completely wayward. My scalp gets oily very quickly and I'm getting dandruff!!! Please please return it to the old formula. Please

Upon first smelling the bottle it smells AMAZING, warm vanilla and almost a peppermint-like scent. I’m not sure if this just wasn’t right for my hair type but it always leaves my hair “sticky” in texture after washing. I pair it with the conditioner in this line as well. The packaging is nice and sleek which I like as well.
