Q: There's plastic inside the kettle on the pour spout and strainer. I removed the strainer, but can't get the plastic pour spout off. Is this removable?

The clear material on the water level indicator is made of TPX Polymethylpentene the characteristics are similar to those of traditional polyolefins TPX features superb clarity, transparency, gas permeability, heat and chemical resistance and release qualities. Q: They say that the water does not come in contact with plastic, but the window where you can see the level IS plastic. Just because it’s BPA free doesn’t mean it’s not plastic. So, it DOES come in contact with the plastic that is window, correct?

I checked the reviews on Wirecutter and this kettle stood out. So far it was been great. I mostly use it to heat water for black tea, although I have used the temperature feature for milder teas that don't require boiling water. That is a great feature. I love how quickly it heats up and it saves on having to turn on my cooktop just to heat water for a cup of tea. I also plan to use it, as others reviewers have said, to heat water for pasta.

I really like the different features except the outside gets hot . You can’t touch it . I have a cheaper tea kettle and the outside of that doesn’t get hot at all .

I bought this about a month ago after another brand electric kettle I had died. I had a Cuisinart electric kettle BEFORE that one, and I liked it. I thought I would give another brand a try because the Cuisinart has a higher price point. Well...turns out, yes, the Cuisinart has a higher price point, AND it's for a reason. It lasts and it has features that are very practical, like keeping the water warm. It pays off in the long run because you won't be constantly buying new kettles.

I love the functionality of the kettle, however, I ordered the pot to avoid plastic in contact with the hot water. I was disappointed that the stainless steel kettle has black plastic parts that the hot water comes into contact with. I guess I assumed that a stainless steel pot would be all stainless steel.
